Dimitri groaned a little at her when she claimed his scratch meant she won. He stood up and leaned against the pool table, his face a mask of embarrassment. He shook his head and a little smile played at the edges of his lips, looking more uncomfortable then pleased.
"You can't claim you did everything. I uh... I fucked that up all on my own." He had both hands on the pool stick and he stood up straight, no longer leaning. "Just cause you can... can read minds doesn't mean you control them..." He was teasing more then anything. He didn't mind if she really wanted to take responsibility for him failing, but he had to give her a little bit of shit if she was going to claim everything was part of her plan.
"Do you want to uh... play again? Or do something else?" He looked around the room, letting his eyes skim the heads of kids reading books, there was a group playing poker in the corner, and three girls seemed to be whispering about something on one of the couches. None of it looked particularly entertaining, but maybe Parker had an idea for something fun.
He let his eyes settle again on Parker, focusing on things they could do and not how pretty her eyes were. Nope, he wasn't going to think about her eyes, just the next activity. Unless she had something to do. What if she thought he was being clingy. He decided he had to make sure she knew he wasn't, "Unless... youknow... you have somewhere else to be." He rubbed a hand through his hair, hoping she didn't think he was annoying or something.

Parker tilted her head when she noticed that Mitri looked a little… off. She didn’t mean to embarrass him! She was just joking around. She would have apologized but then he started joking around with her a little again so she figured he couldn’t be that upset. “So you want to take credit for fucking yourself over?” She smiled at him to show that she was teasing him. She wasn’t exactly witty or anything so when he mentioned her gift, she stood there blushing and avoided eye contact with him. Even though her face as red, she still managed to keep a little smile on her face cause he was still being funny.
She had already won at this game by default, so playing this again seemed a little risky. Parker wasn’t exactly a super competitive person, but it was nice that she won this time. She looked around the room to make sure there wasn’t a teacher and then lifted herself onto the pool table to sit on it. Her legs didn’t reach the ground so she just let them hang there, occasionally swinging them. Taking another look around the room to see what else they could do, she saw the other kids playing games and reading but couldn’t really decide what she wanted to do next. Usually at this point she would have already gone back to her room to do homework or watch TV on her laptop.
But she wasn’t just here to go to school, she needed some friends, so she decided staying might be better? “No, I don’t really have anything to--I mean, no, we could still hang out if you wanted.” God, she sounded like such a dork. “Well, um… so since I technically decided that we were playing pool, you should pick now.” She was getting flustered and started focusing on people’s thoughts again. No. Nononono! Parker was trying to block out the thoughts but it was useless. Someone was thinking about her eyes? She glanced around the room and then back at Mitri. Was it him? She bit her lip and played with her hair nervously.

"Unless you are going to let me take uh... take credit for when you get points then I get to take credit for all my own... things..." Okay, he had lost the thread a bit there but the thought was there. His words had never quite been his strong point, but it still bothered him if he couldn't express something adequately. He was hoping it was adequate enough.
When she said she still wanted to hang out he felt his face flush a little, and a bigger smiled grew. "I uh. I would... I mean, hanging out would be cool... but I don't... don't know what we should do..." He glanced around, the people in here were boring, none of them were doing anything interesting in the slightest.
"We could uh..." He glanced out the window, then back through the people in the room, then to the door. "We could go... for a walk... or something.... or uh... find food...." He felt his stomach grumble slightly and his face got warmer. "Or whateveryouwannado..." He finished lamely. He wasn't good at picking activities.

Parker smiled when he seemed to be struggling with his words a little. It was kind of cute. She didn’t want to say anything about it, in case he took it the wrong way, so she just kept smiling at him a little and shrugged. Which you know, probably made it more awkward, but oh well. She tried to think of something to say, but nothing was coming to her mind. Great. Now he was gonna think she was some kind of mute person.
She liked that he smiled more when she said they could hang out more. Maybe she did make a good impression on him. But he was just as helpful at picking activities as she was. Parker didn’t really have many friends here, so she usually just hung out in her room. “Um. Well, we could, um… I dunno.” She chuckled nervously. She didn’t play videogames and everything else here didn’t exactly interest her.
Food actually sounded like a good idea. She hadn’t eaten in a few hours and she was getting hungry now that he mentioned getting food. When his stomach grumbled, she looked at him, smirking a little. “Um, food… actually sounds good.” At least she wouldn’t have to think of what to do. Plus, she was hungry. And since his stomach was grumbling, it would be mean to not let him have food. It wasn’t like she was coming up with any better ideas. “We could always sneak into the kitchen and grab some food and then if you still wanted to go walk around or something… Or I could help you with that paper?” She was talking kinda quickly so she hoped he understood her. And if he did, she hoped he didn’t think she was a loser for wanting to do homework.

Mitri nodded at her answer, food sounded wonderful to him. He wondered if they would be able to steal anything from the kitchen or if their efforts would be thwarted. He hoped she was sneaky, one didn't just waltz into the kitchen at Silas. It took a certain level of cunning and despite his almost-but-not-quite-too-skinny frame, Dimitri could pack away some food so he had figured that out quickly the tricks.
He made a face when she mentioned the paper, "It's just gonna suck to write... and I don't know how to start it..." He wouldn't have minded her help, to be honest. He was pretty good at writing papers, but for some reason this one just wasn't going to well. He didn't want her to feel obligated. "I can uh... I mean, I can do it though... It's mostly just annoying." He lay the pool stick on the table and stepped toward the door.
"But first things first... we should find something to eat." He half cocked his head toward the exit, watching for her to start moving, hoping she wasn't about to come up with some excuse for what she had to go. He wouldn't be surprised.

Parker could be pretty stealth if she had to be, or if she was hungry. Plus, she just had to be sneaky if there was any hope in getting food from the kitchen. The last time she tried, she almost got caught. She had to escape without any food. That was a pretty sad day. All she wanted to do was go grab a bagel but she slipped. She would have to do better this time, especially since it wasn’t only for her, Dimitri was hungry too. Maybe they could figure out some kind of team work thing to make sure they didn’t get caught.
“If… you wanted, I could probably help you?” Parker’s face was starting to turn red again. She was just trying to be friendly but it was all sounding so lame! “But yeah, it’s cool if you don’t… just thought I’d offer…” She mumbled, glancing down at her feet as she followed him to the door.
They were almost out of the game room, when she realized that she had left her bag on the ground over there. She turned around and ran over to where she’d left it to grab it. She probably should have mentioned to him that she’d be right back considering he was almost out the door. When she caught up with him, she nodded, “Yeah, hopefully we don’t get caught.” She grinned at him before walking out of the room.
