Dimitri tugged on his suit again, slipping his hand into his pocket to close on his sonic screwdriver. Okay, so most people weren't in costume, and technically Dimitri wasn't either. After all, he was wearing a mask where the glasses should have been, and no one else could see the screwdriver. If they were familiar with Doctor who they might get the shoes with the suit, but more then likely people would just think he was weird and was trying to rebel by wearing converse with his suit. He cared, but not enough to sacrifice this opportunity. It wasn't everyday one got to dress up as a Time Lord and Dimitri meant to take advantage of every one. The great hall looked pretty nice, and the music was blaring. The dance had been going for a while and most people were just starting to show up. He could practically feel the bass going in his bones and he closed his eyes for a moment. Why was he here again? He couldn't dance, he didn't know very many people, and he was probably going to end up standing by the wall all night. This was probably going to be humiliating. He hesitated by the edge of the dance floor. There weren't many people there, yet. If he got out there and eve tried to dance he would stick out like a sore thumb. Plus he had no one to dance with and he was a terrible dancer. He adjusted his mask again, and started walking along the edge of the dance floor to a table. When they were like this the students of Silas actually seemed kind of normal. He had been to a dance as a freshman at his old school and it was kind of the same, except way less elaborate. He could almost forget that most of these students could do terrifying things. He wondered if anyone had ever had a power that allowed them to create black holes, that would be scary in the middle of a dance.... or anywhere within light years of the earth really. He was so busy watching the students and wondering if tonight his life was going to end by a random black hole manipulator manifesting... well, anywhere that instead of going to a table to sit down a people watch for a while, he tripped over a chair that had already not been pushed in and went sprawling with a squeak very manly noise of surprise.

Standing invisible by the table with the punchbowl, Nic watched as students began to pour into The Great Hall, his eyes searching for a particular face. Oh crap, how am I going to find her if I can’t see her freaking face?! Dumb masks. Nic was supposed to meet Maddie at the ball so that he could figure out what their “plan” was, but the boy failed to think this part through. He stood there for a few minutes sipping a cup of punch that appeared to be floating in midair, occasionally tilting and spilling its contents into an unseen mouth. As he watched the people, Nic found that he liked what he was seeing.
Girls. Girls all dolled up and all together in one room. A smile formed on his face as he realized how much fun this night could turn out to be. Up until Maddie mentioned that she had a plan for the ball, Nic wasn’t even planning on attending the silly social event. But now, as he was checking out the legs on a girl that walked by who wore a dress that hardly came down to mid-thigh, Nic was thankful that he decided to go to the ball. Nic set the cup down on the table and a whistle could be heard from where he was standing, though the source was unseen. The boy stifled a laugh when he could see the bottom half of the girl’s masked face set into a scowl at the suggestive sound.
The sound of laughter reached Nic’s ears and he turned to see a group of girls giggling and pointing at a boy who currently appeared as if he was hugging the dance floor. Nic joined in on the laughter from where he was standing, and began to laugh even louder when he realized who the boy was. That’s the kid from my Lit and Control classes. What was his name again? Nic tried to remember the other boy’s name as he casually weaved through the ever growing sea of students that began to take over the dance floor.
Coming to a stop in front of the blonde, Nic bent down, still invisible, and roughly grabbed the boy’s arm and yanked him to his feet. Nic’s own laughter was followed by that of the other students as the boy looked as if he was possessed from the manner in which he was brought back on his feet. Suddenly Nic dropped his power and appeared out of nowhere standing in front of the boy that Nic now remembered was named Dmitri. Nic was dressed in an all-black tux with a simple black mask that only covered his eyes. Nic had his trademark look of mischief plastered on his face as he reached a hand out to shake Dmitri’s, “Whats up man? You’re in my Lit and Control classes right? I’m Nic.”
OOC: Sorry if its awkward and sucky, I haven't posted very much with him and I'm still not quite used to him. Also Lore, I hope you don't mind the bit of powerplay with Nic pulling Dmitri up like that, but it was really tempting XD. Let me know if you need me to change it though!

Parker was excited about the dance. She didn’t get to dress up often so she was happy to have an excuse to do that tonight. She’d even worn heels, which she barely did because her feet ended up hurting at the end of the night. She was probably going to have to take off her shoes at some point but she wasn’t going to think about that now. The great hall looked amazing and she wanted to have fun. If only she could find someone she knew, that would be great. Being around this many people was a little overwhelming because of all the thinking. Why did they have to think so LOUDLY. And the music didn’t really help her either. But she was determined to have fun. She watched from the sidelines as the other students danced and had a good time--she wasn’t exactly a dancer. Being on the dance floor meant people could notice her and she preferred staying out of the spotlight. Parker started moving towards a table to go sit down when she noticed that someone had just tripped over a chair. That was so embarrassing, she felt bad for the guy. And now people were laughing. As she got closer, she noticed that it was Mitri. She blushed a little for him. Poor Mitri. And then, out of nowhere another guy showed up. Right. It was Nic or Dominic or something? He was in a bunch of her classes, and usually tried to annoy her. Great. She walked over to them anyway. When she got there, she heard the other guy introducing himself to Mitri as Nic. “Mitri? Are--are you okay?” She asked, with a concerned look on her face, not acknowledging the other boy just yet. She quickly looked him over, and noticed the shoes. “Nice shoes.” She said, grinning. Not being a Doctor Who fan, she had no idea who he was trying to be. But he looked good. The shoes just made him even more adorable. Okay, she couldn’t just ignore the other guy forever, so she decided to at least acknowledge the fact that he was there, even though she was a little suspicious that he might have made Mitri trip. It wouldn't really surprise her. “… … Hey, Nic.” Parker stood there awkwardly, looking back and forth between them. She smoothed out the skirt of her dress, trying to look like she was doing something. God, they were gonna think she was such a dork.

Dimitri felt like his face was burning up and he was pretty sure his entire face was the brightest red it had ever been. There were girls laughing nearby and he was mentally cursing his stupid wandering brain. He was about to climb to his feet when he felt himself yanked off the floor by an invisible person, forcing another noise out of him. The laughter had grown louder with that last little act and when he was steady on his feet he brushed off the front of his suit when Nic appeared. Mitri jumped just a little, then tried to act like he hadn't because wasn't everything already going poorly enough?
Of course, there was still the humiliation factor but that was secondary. At least he was standing up again and the masked stranger wasn't attacking him or making fun of him or anything, yet. He introduced him as Nic and Dimitri nodded, shaking his hand back, and then using that same hand to massage his arm where Nic had picked him up subtly. "Uh. Yeah, I think so, I uh... I guess I just got... you know, distracted... Thanks for uh... helping me up? I'm Dimitri..." He did recognize him now that he had said his name, Nic always had this look of mischief and today wasn't any different, he should have recognized it right off the bat. In fact, if he didn't remember in excruciating detail the chair he had tripped over like a jackass in front of everybody he might think that Nic had been involved somehow.
A girl had approached them during their initial interaction and when she asked if he was okay, he recognized her voice as Parker. He half shrugged and nodded in response, his face got even redder. He really wished people would just pretend he hadn't just face planted.

Luna went down to the great hall bedecked in the clothes her parents had got her for this reason The Masquerade Ball. She didn’t want to go really but she had promised to for her parents sake. The instant she opened the door she was bowled over by all the emotions. She nearly fell over but she was able to stay up right in these heels from years of doing gymnastics. Luckily none of the emotions were targeted at her so she was able to ignore them mostly. She scanned the hall for anyone she knew but she couldn’t see anyone she really knew she tried to avoid the dance floor it looked newly polished which meant she would make a spectactle of herself. She went at got a drink then sat down at one of the tables sipping at it trying to see if her roommate was here she had left earlier saying she was going. She took off her shoes and put them into her purse they were a accident waiting to happen in this sort of setting. She then walked around searching for parker she looked around the dance floor and near the drinks eventually she saw her with some boys she was hesistant to go over one of them looked cute to her. She walked over making sure no trod her on feet she then said “hey there parker im here now” she then blushed at the cute boy with blonde hair. Hopefully parker wasn’t paying attention to her thoughts. She blushed even redder she then sat down to try and get her head she didn’t know what came over her she never really had liked boys in this way before. She then made sure her hair was alright and applied some purple lipstick.

Kathleen wore a black mask and her black dress with matching heels as her long hair was in a bun. She couldn't resist it was something to keep her busy and she would give them as way to remember the night. It took her some time to get ready as she was late to getting to the party. As she was not used to dressing up but when she did, she usually looked pretty good. Taking on last look before heading towards where the ball was headed. Seeing other students there as she was looking for Vincent but couldn't find him. If he didn't show up, it would be disappointed but she kept her self company with the camera. Hearing the music blasting as she liked the music that was playing as she then spotting two students or that is what it appears to be.
So she walked over to them and thankful for the mask it took some of the nervousness out of her. Seeing it was students as she was able to be more confident, as she was able to take pictures with the mask on. Since she didn't need to hold to keep it up. "Hello, do you two want your picture taken you know to remember this night as a souvenir." She said as she was not knowing what was going on since she just arrived.

Nic nodded once when Dmitri, awkwardly, thanked him for helping him to his feet, before adding “Uh yea, don’t mention it.” Just as the boy was about to comment about all of the attractive females in the immediate area, one just happened to approach the two and began to talk with the clumsy blonde. Nic couldn’t help but stare at the pretty girl as she spoke with Dmitri and he began to wonder who it could be behind the mask. Without realizing it, Nic’s dark blue gaze became fixated on the girl’s legs. Geeze I love it when they wear them shorter dresses. They should make that the dress code at these things. No dresses longer than mid-thigh allowed. His smirk deepened at the thought.
Suddenly the teen’s attention was drawn away from the beautiful pair of legs at the sound of his name coming off her lips. Confused, Nic snapped his gaze up and he noticed the awkward atmosphere that surrounded the girl just at the moment that he recognized her voice. “Holy crap no way, Parker? Daaaangggg.” Nic knew the girl from several of his classes and, sure, he thought she was really cute, but he didn’t realize that she had the potential to be so hot. She was the shy type of girl that Nic would generally tease and mess around with in class, and often times, he did. But now she looked like she had just walked out of the cover of some fashion magazine.
Nic noted the awkward air surrounding both Parker and Dmitri and the teen rolled his eyes, before realizing how much he enjoyed messing around with awkward people. This could be fun. With a smirk on his face, the boy closed the couple of feet between him and Parker and casually put an arm around her shoulder before asking with a playful and flirtatious tone, “So uh, wanna know what a polar and I have in common?” He paused a second, not allowing enough time for the girl to respond, before answering himself, “We both break the ice!” Nic laughed at the overused joke for a moment, but paused when a new face joined the trio.
He let his arm slide off of Parker’s shoulder and proceeded to fold them across his chest as he curiously looked at the newcomer. As the girl spoke to Parker, Nic couldn’t help but let out an exasperated sigh as he realized that she was rather shy and awkward too. He wasn’t used to being surrounded by so many timid people and he worried that he wouldn’t enjoy the evening as much if the ambiance of this crowd didn’t change soon. Just as he was about to suggest that the group head out to the dance floor and have some fun, a professor arrived and offered to take pictures. Nic wasn’t really interested and he looked to his peers to see if they planned on taking pictures. As he waited, the teen tapped his foot anxiously, his gaze still scanning the crowd in hopes that he’d somehow spot Maddie.

Parker felt even worse when she saw Mitri’s face get redder but she couldn’t help it. They were friends, new friends but still, so she had to make sure he was okay. Right? Well, at least he was okay and now she could drop it. She looked over at Nic for a second, trying to figure out if he had something to do with this. But she couldn’t so she gave him the benefit of the doubt, for now. Oh god. Why was he doing this! Parker blushed and her face was almost as red as Mitri’s. How was she even supposed to respond to that? She looked down at her feet, and tried to think of what she should say. “I…thank you?” She glanced up as she spoke and then looked back down, trying to avoid eye contact with either boy.
When Nic put his arm around her, Parker tensed up. She hadn’t been expecting him to do that. She glanced at Mitri quickly, trying to signal to him that she need help. Why was Nic being so… nice to her? He was usually always playing tricks on her, that she couldn’t help being suspicious about him. In spite of what was happening, she couldn’t help but laugh a little and roll her eyes at Nic’s lame joke. She couldn’t help but feel a little relieved when he moved his arm. Parker stepped away from Nic slightly and noticed Luna.
“Oh, hey Luna.” Parker smiled at her roommate. She still didn’t really know the girl, but she seemed nice enough, a little quirky but nice. She watched as Luna sat down and started putting makeup on. Should she be doing that too? She had put on a bit before she left their room, but didn’t think to bring any with her. Besides, from Nic’s reaction when he realized who she was, she thought she had to look good enough. Her cheeks flushed a little more at the thought of what he had said. Maybe she should introduce them? Since apparently she was the only one who knew everybody?
Well, she was about to and then a teacher came over and asked to take their picture. This was getting to be a lot of people around her, and it was making her a little nervous. So far, for the most part she’d been able to keep their thoughts out of her head, but she wasn’t sure how much longer she’d be able to keep that up, especially if new people were coming around every other second. Parker shrugged, she would only do it if someone really wanted to. Even though it might be nice to have some kind of documentation of the night, she didn’t really want to document this particular moment of awkwardness.

Dimitri was getting frustrated. He had tripped in front of everyone before he had been there ten minutes and now people were congregating around him when he needed time to not look like a blushing, bumbling idiot. And to top it all off Nic was hitting on Parker. Parker and him were just friends, of course, and he had no intention of it ever being more then that, but she was kind of his first friend here and he was a bit protective. Nic seemed like a nice enough guy, but he had his arm around her and was using cheesy jokes on her. Girls loved crap like that too, didn't they? Parker was probably going to start going out with them and spending all her time with him and then Mitri was back to no one. Why hadn't he thought to tell her she looked nice so she hadn't had to seek solace from another guy who she would then fall madly in love with and leave him with no friends?
Okay so that was probably a bit far but his night was going poorly so what did he know?
He was too focused on his own little brain panic to notice her glance or to notice the girl walking up to join them until she spoke to Parker. He glanced at her, then at the ground. It was too much right now. He was feeling a bit frazzled and there were new people, Luna was her name apparently.
He nodded a small greeting at her, the most socially acceptable way to say hello without actually saying anything, since he was pretty sure his words would come out jumbled or sarcastic. Since she hadn't really done anything to annoy him, probably jumbled, but at this point he couldn't be too careful.
He was trying to ignore his brain, his inability to speak with out stumbling over his words, the fact that he was too stupid to tell his friend she looked nice, the fact that Nic probably thought he was a moron, and a million other things when a teacher approached asking if they wanted a picture.
Dimitri felt the words tumbling out before he could stop them and while normally being sarcastic to a teacher was the last thing he wanted to do, he couldn't stop it. It was like word vomit. He was like Tourette's or a seizure or something. "Yeah, this is exactly the moment I want to document of my high school career."
After he said it of course his eyes got really wide and his head ducked, and he busied himself wiping the now nonexistent dust off his suit, mumbling, "I uh... I meannothankyou."
