Shoot. The girl had a point. Not that Seth was going to admit that to her. He kept back the snarl that was threatening to come out, only glaring at her with narrowed eyes that still looked glassy in the light. "Really? Then you should be commending me for my less than predictable move." He shook his head, trying to focus on what he was saying, and who was standing in front of him. But the buzz from the absorption was sticking around longer than usual, and he wasn't able to think clearly. He didn't even know if what he had said made sense and he didn't want to think about it either. She probably thought he was ridiculous, but since when did he care what other people thought? She was just some random girl he'd run into.
For once he wished it would all disappear for just a moment more. Let him live in ignorance of what her power was, of what she was going to say and do. He didn't want to know and he didn't want to deal with this right now. Wish denied. The ghost showed up before he could do much of anything, and it wasn't helping that Jackie was watching him with a knowing smirk. She started laughing and Seth's head pounded with each increase in volume in pitch. He cringed away from the sound, but it seemed like forever before she stopped and looked over at him again. Fear made him rigid, his eyes never living the man that stood in front of him. Run. But his feet wouldn't move and he scarcely recognized the frenzied thought as his own.
He could remember when his biggest fear was a ghost. Sitting at home, watching some horror movie late at night with his best friend Callie. They huddled underneath the covers, eyes wide and terrified but both of them insisting they weren't scared. After all, they had to beat the other. So they would stick it out and once the credits rolled, they hopped up to put in another one, not without glancing around for fear of something jumping out at them from the now dark television screen. He'd make a noise just to spook her and she'd jump, higher than he thought possible. She'd smack him and they'd laugh, both knowing that ghosts didn't exist. Ghosts aren't real, she'd assured him one night, though that didn't stop her from being scared, and it certainly didn't stop him. After a few years he hadn't been scared though and ghosts were just a silly cliche that movies made a bunch of money off of.
They're real. Just when he thought there wasn't anything to add to his miserable life, he got to throw in the existence of ghosts. Which opened up a whole other world of fantasy creatures that had once crept in his closet and under his bed. Be afraid, be very afraid. He jerked at the sound of a voice, but it was only Jackie, still laughing and smiling. At her comment, he flashed back to when Callie had said that exact phrase, trying to spook him, but he only ended up laughing. He smiled at the memory, smiled because this girl before him wasn't so unlike his old friend, not in some ways.
That is, until she continued to run her mouth and the smile vanished, replaced by a cold mask as he desperately tried to hide the fear that was edging its way back into his mind. Their friends, more ghouls and creatures of the night to send him running back to his childhood fears. She kept talking, about children and the dorms being infested with their ghosts, about the cemetery and the irony of the ghosts aversion to it. What a horrific life for a person. But he wasn't letting her leave him to that. And he wasn't a child anymore. He steeled himself and straightened, feeling the power pulse through his body, though he knew it was beginning to fade inside of him. He might have her power for an hour or two more and it would be gone.
The arrogant smirk reclaimed his lips and he turned to her, leaning close. "The children, huh? Do they scare you just a little bit? Must be tough then, being haunted every day. Tell me, is it awkward for you, having a ghost there watching you every step of the way? Unless you're friends. That would explain so much." He mocked her, wanting to pay her back for every laugh. Before he'd absorbed her power, before she'd laughed at him, he had some weird feeling that they were getting along. Something so rare for Seth that he wasn't quite sure how to handle it. But now he knew how to handle the situation, he'd be the jerk he always was. The ghost stepped forward but Seth held up a hand, flashing him a glare. "I'm not afraid of some old guy who likes to stalk young girls, ghost or not, creeps are creeps." He stepped forward toward Jackie, but stopped, suddenly tired. He didn't feel like a fight right now. Straightening, he grinned, a roguish smile that wasn't bitter or mocking. "For an hour or two, guess what?" He leaned in, humor making his smile bigger. "I see dead people, too."

“Commend you? The winner is the one who should be given commendations, don’t you think?” She said innocently, as if she didn’t know the answer herself and was only asking out of politeness. But Jackie was never “polite.” The medium let out a sigh, tapping her foot impatiently as she gazed up at Seth, as if she was waiting for him to say something. If it wasn’t for the sudden turn of events at the very end of their fight, Jackie would have valiantly admitted her defeat. But as she thought on it, it was him who lost control after she head-butted his face and it was him who let go of her afterwards.
Jackie wasn’t sure exactly what effect her little yarn about the ghost children would have on the Seth, but watching his smile dissolve into a cold mask brought her satisfaction. Maybe she had gotten to him. It was the one good thing that came of her powers; to incite fear in others. Her power gave her a connection to the one thing that the living knew absolutely nothing about. Death. She could hear and see what others couldn’t, what many lived in fear of because they were blind, deaf, and thus utterly vulnerable to them.
What Seth did next Jackie hadn’t expected. She stood her ground as he leaned toward her, unmoved by his suddenly close proximity. But the effect his words had on her were a different story. Everything he said was true. Yes, the ghosts of children unnerved her more than others. Yes, at the beginning it was ‘tough’ having to deal with the restless souls at all hours of day and night. And yes, on occasion there were awkward moments that made her want to kill a ghost (if it were possible) that invaded her privacy. Jackie did not miss her powers one bit and she relished the blindness and deafness that the power absorber had given her. How long would she have to appreciate the silence and solitude that she had been deprived of for years?
But Jackie would never admit to the truth of his words, and instead she shrugged casually as her lips formed into a smirk that mimicked his own. “Nah, it’s not so bad once you get used to it. The dead area easy to ignore.” A lie. The dead could be more persistent and pestilent than the living, especially the ones that walked the halls of Silas. When Seth suggested that Jenkins was some sort of pedophilic creep, Jackie entered into another explosive fit of laughter, clenching her ribs as they objected once again to the sudden movements. This Seth kid had unintentionally made her laugh more this one night than she’d laughed in her entire time at Silas.
Although Jenkins was truly a well natured fellow who could only cause harm by talking your ear off, Jackie thought the idea of him as a creepy stalker was hilarious. Jenkins was never going to hear the end of this, the medium would see to that. Jackie was finally able to compose herself, but a smile that threatened to erupt into laughter lingered for a few minutes longer.
As he stepped even closer towards her, Jackie cocked an eyebrow as she gazed up at him, curious as to what he was up to. Although she certainly didn’t mind his close proximity, she felt that it would be best to be somewhat on guard when around this one, but that task was growing to be difficult. For once his lips weren’t twisted into a smirk as he smiled and it seemed as if he had recovered the mood he was in before he discovered her power. She was so transfixed on his smile that she almost didn’t hear what he had said. “An hour or two?” She blurted, trying to conceal the desperation in her voice. So much for having the chance to appreciate her peace and solitude.

. so i go insane like i always do AND I CALL YOUR NAME, SHES A LOT LIKE YOU
"Winner?" He let out an indignant laugh, eyeing her in complete disbelief. She thought she had won? The thought was completely ridiculous. Anyone who had watched the fight would see that he had won. She was completely pinned with no way of winning and even her desperate attempt to gain the advantage wouldn't have worked if he hadn't be so surprised that he lost control of his power. Besides, even then he had still held on. "I'm afraid you're sadly mistaken. Maybe you hit your head a little harder than you thought?" He posed the question so casually that the underlying insult was almost indistinguishable. "You clearly lost. I let go after you were defeated, and only so I didn't kill you by absorbing too much. It was a favor, really."
Seth hated that she had the upper hand. He could see it in her smirk, she enjoyed lording his fear over him. It was despicable, utterly intolerable and so completely something he would do. He couldn't help but be at least a fraction impressed with how she was handling herself, playing to his fears and scaring him more than anyone had ever done in years. It was a new feeling, the shiver of terror that raced along his spine. An all new kind of adrenaline pumped through his body and while it did not give him the usual sense of power, it stilled filled the gap that his power always left inside him. Maybe he should have someone scare him more often. He chuckled at the thought.
The weakness was written all over her face. She had, in her own taunts, given him her own fear. She was afraid of the children, just like she had mocked that he would be. Foolish, to give someone that much control over you. The smirk came so naturally that Seth almost didn't realize it was there. It seemed to be a permanent fixture on his face. Soon enough though his expression was mirrored on his face, but he didn't falter. "Well I can assure you, while the dead may be easy to ignore, I'm not." That was meant to come out more sarcastically, but for some reason Seth had an uneasy feeling that he had made it sound like he was flirting. Then again it was highly possible that he was. She was pretty and strong enough to fight him, though not quite enough to beat him.
Her laughter made him lean back in shock, surprised that she would find his comment so funny. Still, without his permission, a smile grew on his lips as he watched her. "I didn't realize you quite enjoyed laughing so much. I'll make a note of cracking more jokes in the future." The sarcasm was light and not even meant to be insulting, a definite improvement on most of Seth's comments. The ghost had drifted back away from them and Seth was silently thankful of the fact. He wasn't afraid of the old man anymore, but his presence was still troubling. The man was a living, or rather dead, reminder that he still had the power of a medium. He really needed to learn a person's power before he absorbed it, it would save him a lot of grief in the future.
"Did you think it would be permanent? I can't really say I relish the idea of holding onto your power." Her desperation amused him for some reason. She acted so strong and brave but she was as upset about the nature of her power as he had been when he'd found out he was a power absorber. Though as a kid, Seth began to think that her experience was probably much worse than his. Something inside him begged him to apologize that it couldn't be permanent, that he couldn't keep her power longer so she could relax. He wouldn't though. Apologies weren't in his nature. "Don't worry, I could always hang around and come back for seconds." He smirked, knowing the comment wasn't completely innocent. Though it was true in a way, he needed power and she didn't want hers. Seth was starting to see the beginning of a lovely arrangement. [/b] [/div] words // 000 // tagged // Jackie // outfit // here [/i][/div] [/center]

“Winner?” Seth’s displeasure over her claim of victory was nearly palpable as Jackie casually nodded her head in response. She had expected this, boys always had a hard time accepting defeat by a girl. When he suggested that she must have hit her head too hard, Jackie smirked before quipping, “By the way how’s the nose?” As he went on to explain how his victory was won, Jackie chuckled, shaking her head. “No, you let go because you couldn’t control yourself after I smashed in your nose. I’ll admit, I thought you had me there, but in the end it is your fault you let go, therefore, you lost.”
He could see the fear in her face as she was able to do little to hide it. Jackie hated it when she let her guard slip, when others discovered one of the few things that could truly haunt her. But the roots of her fear of the children ran deep and were closely link to her fear of her dead sisters. Although they no longer appeared before her, the other ghost children would remind her of them; of little Rebecca’s heartbreaking smile, of Jenna’s sweet voice. Jackie’s face was carved from stone as her thoughts wandered towards her little sisters, now long gone. Although Seth knew well of her fear by now, Jackie was careful to conceal her pain. Thus far not a soul at Silas knew about the tragedy she’d brought upon herself and she intended for it to stay that way.
His voice broke through her thoughts and dissipated the memories, a distraction Jackie was thankful for. A playful little smile formed on her lips at his words, she liked him when he was flirty. Or maybe she just liked him in general. But he was right, unlike the dead, and also unlike many of the living here at Silas, Seth was hard to ignore. Aside from his loose tongue and that headstrong nature of his, Seth was a difficult guy to overlook. He had an attractive face with lips that Jackie’s gaze seemed to constantly gravitate towards, especially when they formed into that signature smirk of his. “You are a little hard to ignore,” Jackie admitted. When it came to guys, Jackie was never one to play coy and admitting her attraction to someone was as easy as breathing to her.
When he commented about her laughing, Jackie shrugged before adding with a playful tone, “Maybe you should try it sometime, it’s actually not so bad.” She generally wasn’t one to laugh so much at the things people said, but would occasionally get a kick when a person was struck with misfortune; such as falling on their face or getting the life scared out of them when they saw a ghost for the first time. But she liked the idea of being entertained by the power absorber. Some of the things he said made laughing too hard to resist.
The medium hadn’t noticed the despair in her voice and on her face until Seth responded. Of course she knew that he hadn’t absorbed her power permanently, but having her power taken for only but a couple hours was just the same as not having lost her power at all. But she couldn’t blame him for not wanting to hold onto it longer. The “power” she had was more of a curse and was utterly useless to her. But his subtle offer of giving her respite from her curse again sometime helped placate the despair that came with the thought of having her power returned to her so soon. But being Jackie, she wasn’t about to express her gratitude with a proper “thank you”. Smirking, her voice was playful again, “Good, because it would break my fragile little heart if I couldn’t see you again, Pretty Boy.” Her spirit had lightened up once more as she joked.

She really was a smug little thing, standing there with that smile as she mocked him and asked how his nose was. Oddly enough, he hadn't thought about the pain in his nose for a while, not until she asked. "I don't think it's broken, not that you would really care." He raised his hand briefly and lightly touched the side of his nose. Not broken, but he was sure that a nice bruise was going to form from her desperate act. The odd thing was that Seth didn't mind and as she continued on with their little argument, proclaiming herself the winner, he still didn't mind. It was funny though, to watch her laugh and talk about how she won. He would set her straight later, right now he didn't feel like continuing their disagreement. He could think of more agreeable things to be doing.
Jackie threw up a poker face like a pro, like Seth was used to doing. For one split second the fear was there, genuine and horrible, and then just like that it was gone. Her fear dissolved into the mask that Seth knew well enough to recognize. It was the same mask her used, to make people believe he was invincible. Maybe if he was in a fouler mood he might have brought it up, used it to make underhanded jabs, finding the cracks in her nearly flawless armor. Now though, Seth let it slide. He had his moments, with his two warring personalities, that the less antagonistic side would win. He could only assume it was one of those moments where he was ruled by the more rational side of his brain, the one left more or less untouched by parasitic nature of his so called gift.
'You are a little hard to ignore.' The comment made him smile, partially out of surprise. He was used to the back and forth that always came before anything else. But it seemed that she liked things a little more direct and Seth was far from complaining. It was any guys dream to find such a hot girl who was less inclined to play hard to get. The smile tilted to the side, becoming the smirk that he was comfortable with, more comfortable than a genuine smile anyway. "I get that a lot. Though I'm sure you could say the same." For a moment he considered her more seriously than he had before. At first sight he'd sized her up as competition, to see if as a fighting opponent she would be a challenge. He'd decided she would be and he'd been right. But now he considering her for something else entirely and somehow, Seth was fairly sure she would measure up in that as well.
"Maybe I should." He watched her for a moment, his gaze lingering briefly on her lips before look back up to her eyes. "In fact, I think I now have a reason to. As long as you keeping laughing that is." Seth hadn't laughed in a long time. Maybe he chuckled once in a while, at the expense of others, but never because he found something genuinely funny in a light hearted way. Comedy had never been his thing. The snide remarks and caustic retorts, they were more up his alley. He shook his head at his train of thought. He wasn't going to change who he was for some random girl. Still, she was gorgeous and funny, even if he wasn't inclined to laugh.
His offer seemed to lift her mood, since the smirk returned in full force and she spoke in the same playful voice as she had earlier. He liked hearing it, not that he would admit it. "Your fragile heart?" He raised his eyebrows in mock surprise. Then, he stepped forward and leaned down so that his face was only a few inches from her own. "If it's fragile, then maybe you should walk away. I've been known to leave a few broken hearts in my wake." He grinned at her. "And I wouldn't want to leave such a strong fighter in pieces. So how about it Rebel Child, do you think I'll break you?" He could guess her answer, but it was fun to tease her all the same. Besides, he liked getting closer to her, even if he was mocking her while doing it.

Jackie was glad to see the smile form on his face after her little comment and couldn’t help but smile a bit herself. Although she though Seth’s roguish smirks were absolutely hot, the medium decided that she preferred his actual smiles, they were rather charming. “As a matter of fact I can say the same,” she said with a wink, “but I do believe that you’ll find me far more difficult to ignore than others.” There was a hidden promise in her voice, one that wasn’t so innocent.
As the two played at their little game, Jackie began to consider where the two of them would end up in relation to each other. It was beginning to be obvious that they would be more than just sparring partners. Seth was just the type of guy that Jackie enjoyed the most. First and foremost, he was obscenely attractive. And tall. He was also blunt, which the medium thought was hot. She could hardly stand the guys that always sugarcoated their words when talking to girls, complementing them on the most ridiculous things to try and win their favor. On top of all that, Seth was actually able to beat her at a fight, though it was a point that Jackie would never admit to.
She caught his eyes lingering on her lips and reflexively they pulled into a little smile. “Well in that case you better get to work and start making me laugh,” she said playfully, though she was sure that he wouldn’t have to work very hard. One of the things about Seth that was starting to grow on Jackie was his sense of humor and seemingly innate ability to make her laugh, even if it was unintentional. But this also made Jackie a bit uneasy. If she did start spending more time around him, she’d have to make sure not to get attached. Though she’d never had that issue in the past, she wasn’t about to start that now.
I definitely like this guy. As he stepped even closer, shrinking the already small gap that had existed between them before leaning down to bring his face closer to hers, Jackie could feel her pulse rising and her heart slowly picking up pace. She watched his words leave his lips, barely interpreting what he was saying to her. When he asked if she thought he’d be able to break her, Jackie simply smirked as something stirred inside her. “I think you can try,” she challenged in a sultry tone. Then, without warning, Jackie leaned forward to close the few inches that separated his lips from her own.
Although Jackie wasn’t completely sure what she got herself into, she wasn’t afraid of a broken heart. Up until now she’d managed to stay completely unattached in all of her previous relationships. In fact she knew a thing or two about breaking hearts, she’d broken a few herself. But this was typical Jackie, diving head first into whatever came her way, leaving the consequences to deal with later.

"I don't know about that." Seth shook his head, watching her with a slight smile on his lips. The game was fun and one he knew well. You tease a little, throw in a bit of a flirting and before long you've got them hooked, unless they're a better player and they have you hooked. Seth had never been hooked in his life. He was always the better player, at least in his mind. "I've got a terrible attention span. You'll have to work really hard to keep my interest." He didn't mean it though and he was fairly sure she would realize that. After all, he was already having trouble looking away from her.
The smile was almost too much and he had to force himself to look away from her, even though his own smile showed through when she spoke again. She never failed to have a comeback and Seth liked that. The people who stood their dumbly, unsure of what they were supposed to do or say were just boring. Seth had to work too hard with those kind of people. Jackie was perfect in that respect, he didn't have to spend any time coaching her one what she should be saying, she just knew. "It's not fun if you're expecting it. I'll save the jokes for later when I actually have a chance of surprising you." Everything was funnier when you weren't waiting for it.
He raised an eyebrow in response to her challenge. She wanted him to try and break her heart? Seth couldn't help the grin, he'd never had a girl welcome the heartbreak and he was beginning to think this would be more fun than he had initially expected. His grin faltered as she kissed him, throwing him off for a moment. No girl had ever made the first move and it was a bit disturbing to Seth that Jackie had. Then again, what did he care? The girl was kissing him, regardless of who had started it.
Without really thinking about it, he placed his hands on her waist, leaning down in order to do so. Compared to him, she was short and while he didn't really mind the fact, it did make kissing her a bit of a challenge. Bending just a bit more, his right arm slipped completely around her waist, pulling her towards him and up just enough so he didn't have to hurt himself while trying to kiss her. Jackie was experienced, he would give her that.
It took Seth a minute before he could restrain himself enough to pull away from the kiss, loosening his grip enough to set her down but not enough to let her step back and put space between them. With a bright, genuine smile, he winked down at her, leaning over so that his lips were by her ear. "So Rebel, did you hear that?" He pulled away, this time with a slight smirk. "I do believe I hear your armor cracking." She was an amazing kisser, she was funny and sarcastic and could fight better than most guys Seth knew. But no matter how much Seth might like her, she was still just a girl and he didn't let himself get attached to people. He lived off of absorbing peoples powers, off the adrenaline high he could get, and this… Well, relationships, or whatever the heck people called this, were just another form of adrenaline. He hadn't been lying when he told her that he might break her heart, but he was starting to hope that maybe she would be strong enough to walk away when it was done, and not be a mess like he'd left so many others.

“Oh really? I didn’t find it very difficult at all to get your attention just now,” she said teasingly as she gazed deep into his eyes, as if trying to lock him there to further prove her point. Jackie wasn’t blind to the way that he looked at her, the way that many boys tended to. She knew that Seth appreciated what he saw, she could see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice. Even as he joked about her gaining his attention, she could tell from his voice that she already had it, full and undivided.
Saving the jokes for later? Oddly, Jackie liked the sound of that, or mostly, just the sound of there being a “later” for the two of them. When he spoke of making her laugh when she least expected it, Jackie playfully shook her head in mock disappointment. “Well, then I suppose I should apologize to you now, I don’t get taken by surprise very easily. Buuuut for your sake I suppose I can pretend, if it would make you feel better.” She found that conversation was as simple was breathing with Seth, but was also much more entertaining. Why couldn’t all the guys at Silas be this way?
The more words they exchanged, the more intrigued Jackie grew with the tall, dark-haired, handsome young man before her. She wanted to know more about him, to be the target of more of his playful taunts, and more than anything right now, she wanted to know what it felt like to have those lips that she was beginning to adore pressed against her own. And when Jackie was curious about something, she made it a point to find out what she wanted to know.
As they kissed, she could feel his strong hands on her waist, her arms instinctively going up to wrap around his neck as he leaned forward to accommodate her height. She could tell that it was a bit of a challenge because of the height difference, but was impressed by the way he made up for it when he seemed to effortlessly bring her up and closer to him. Jackie liked the feel of his strong arm holding her close to him, but most of all she relished the way his lips felt on hers. Her curiosity was more than satisfied. Seth was a great kisser and Jackie intended to remind herself of that sometime again.
Jackie was a little disappointed when he pulled away from the kiss, but concealed it by looking up at him with a devious smile. She had definitely enjoyed it more than she should have. Just as he still held her up close to him, Jackie’s arms remained draped around his shoulders. Before she could say anything, he leaned down and whispered to her, the feel of his breath on her ear sending tingles down her spine. She liked that too. His words confused her at first and she looked up at him quizzically as he pulled back. Before she could ask what he meant, he finished his sentence, bringing another smile on Jackie’s face.
Rebel. She didn’t mind the nickname, it suited her quite well. But what itched at her was what he said next. Her armor cracking? Jackie never had to worry about getting hurt by a boy because she never let herself get attached. It wasn’t very difficult for her and she was hardly ever careful with her words or actions with guys. But could he be right? Should she have given credence to his earlier warning? But the thought was only fleeting and before Jackie knew it she was back to her playful taunts with Seth.
A dumbfounded expression fell upon her face as she cocked her head, as if trying to listen for the sound he was speaking of. “Um, no I’m not sure that I can hear it over the sound of your poor heart crying out for mercy. Am I too much for you to handle? If so you should walk away, that is, if you can.” She had a sly smile on her face as she gazed up at him, a challenge glinting in her eyes. So who would be the one to leave the other broken and bruised? Only time will tell.

. so i go insane like i always do AND I CALL YOUR NAME, SHES A LOT LIKE YOU
"Trust me, I'm pretty good with surprises. You won't ever see it coming." His grinned confidently at her. It was true though, he was good at surprising people. The sad part was that the surprises weren't always welcome. His surprises tended toward the dangerous side and while he hadn't meant it in that way, he was beginning to wonder if that was how it was going to work out for them. Nothing ever ended well when Seth was involved and while Jackie liked him at the moment, he knew soon enough she would turn on him like everyone else. It was better that way, him on his own with no attachments. Less people got hurt, well, not really. But less people he cared about got hurt. The only way to achieve that was to simply not care about anyone and that was the one thing that Seth didn't mess up at. He was good at it, not caring and not getting attached, and while some girls had stubbornly insisted there was a nice guy somewhere in him, Seth had long since come to grips with the fact that they were naive and refused to see the truth. There was nothing good in him.
That didn't stop him from enjoying the kiss though. Hurting people didn't stop him from living, it was as simple as that. Her arms wrapping around his neck made him smile against her lips for a moment, but it disappeared as quickly as it had come as he became more consumed with the feel of her body pressed against his. He could feel his own power lurking just in the back of his thoughts but he pushed it away. He already had her power, so the need wasn't so great that he couldn't ignore it. Still, it was an ever constant presence that overshadowed everything in his life, he couldn't even fully enjoy kissing her, but that didn't stop him from trying.
Her devious smile only made him want to kiss her again, but he restrained himself, even when he leaned close to whisper in her ear. Being so close to her was beginning to be a struggle for the power absorber and that was the tell tale sign that his hold on her power was beginning to slip and it was begging him to take some more. He kept a carefully placed smirk on his lips to hide any of his thoughts and impulses. He doubted telling her would change anything, she seemed perfectly fine with what had already happened, when most people ran screaming the second he touched them. It was refreshing to find someone who wasn't afraid of him, though it was oddly disturbing to know that he couldn't intimidate her, no matter how much he tried.
His jab only made her smile again, which was beginning to be the typical response from her. It was strange, the way he was starting to look forward to the smile. When he'd first walked up to her, Seth wouldn't have thought that he could make her smile, except in a way to mock him. This though, wasn't a mocking smile, it was genuine and it was directed at him. He wasn't any closer to admitting that he liked the feeling it gave him, but was content to enjoy it without comment.
"Are you sure you're close enough to hear my heart? I've been told I don't even have one. Perhaps you're mistaking the sound of your own heart crying." He grinned at her and tightened his arms, pulling her still closer. "But please, give it a shot. Find my heart." Of course it was silly, but he had been told that, and sometimes when he was having a particularly bad day, he started to believe it. After only a moments pause, he looked down with a slight smirk. "I enjoy playing with fire, and I'm starting to realize that's exactly what you are." Without waiting for a response, he closed the space between them by leaning down and placing his lips on hers, a quick kiss that ended as he stepped away. "I can handle getting burned, the question is, can you? Later Rebel." With a wink and a roguish grin, he turned and walked away from her. He'd see her again soon enough, the much he was sure of.
OOC: I figured we could wrap up this post. It was the perfect introductory thread ;D
