Quick decisions can be dangerous. but that doesn't mean ONE LAST THING: None [/div] After sitting around in their dorm room bored out of their minds, Shiloh and Damian had made their way out of the room and to the gardens. It wasn't exactly the most entertaining place to be, but the nineteen year old always was one to like nature and he figured that there would be enough sounds and smells to keep Damian happy for a bit.
It was a fairly warm day at the academy, part of the reason the two had to leave their stuffy room. With the sun bearing down on their backs the two unusual friends found themselves a seat on one of the various garden benches. Shiloh let out a groan, sinking down onto the bench as his eyes remained half closed in boredom. "Bloody heat . . . god I miss England." It was true, back in England the weather was sure to be at least a little cooler than the weather at the Academy.
The impulsive teen folded his arms behind him, stretching out his legs in front of him. Shiloh was not one to like boredom, luckily his impulsive behavior usually provided a quick solution. And that was exactly what the gifted teen was looking for, a solution to the boredom. His eyes glanced around the garden, taking in all of the plants and twittering birds. Everything was so full of nature. Even the benches had a few flowers that had decided to wind their leafy tendrils up the sides. Shiloh continued to take in their surroundings until he caught a corner of what appeared to be stone. His interest caught, the teen zoomed in with his eyes, causing the edges of his vision to blur and the center to sharpen immensely.
A stone fountain came into view, the water dripping off the top to land in the pool of water below. From what Shiloh could see the water went up about a foot and a half. We should get some water . . . that's what we need. His thoughts trailing off lazily, it took a moment or two before one of the teen's famous impulsive ideas reached him. But once it did, Shiloh couldn't help but let a mischevious smile creep upon his face. "Hey Damian, you know what we should do? We should go swimming." The nineteen year old would make sure to elaborate on his idea once he received an answer from his blind friend. that they aren’t fun.

. tell the world i'm coming home . Damian had followed Shiloh when the latter suggested they take a walk outside. He liked being outside anyway, because then he could feel the wind as it danced around. Meaning he was happy as soon as they stepped out of the dorm and began to wander. Damian wasn't sure where Shiloh was headed, but rather than ask, he contented himself to follow. It gave him time to practice anyway. and he let most of his attention focus on what the wind touched. He got glimpses of things, and even managed to decipher what a few were. A tree there...a bush over there...that was either a hedge or a wall...
He heard more than saw Shiloh drop onto one of the benches and, after a moment of groping, joined his friend. The complaint about the weather was met only with a slightly smile - Damian had no clue what the weather should be like back in Ireland, only that he wasn't too uncomfortable at the school. It made him wonder, though, if he could remember, would he be complaining too? Musing over the thought, Damian propped his elbows on his knees and listened to Shiloh shifting around. Behind them and across the courtyard he could hear the rustle of leaves, even as he felt the wind send them dancing. Somewhere water splashed cheerfully, and it was on that sound - and its source - that Damian was trying to focus when Shiloh suddenly spoke again. "Hey Damian, you know what we should do? We should go swimming." The thought made his stomach clench a little; swimming meant not being able to touch the ground, and most of his body not touching air. Despite his trepidation, he raised an eyebrow in Shiloh's direction and made sure to hide the trepidation in his voice. "Swimming? I'm not really a great swimmer. The whole 'can't see' thing...you know. Where would you go, anyway?" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quick decisions can be dangerous. but that doesn't mean ONE LAST THING: Power played him a little. Just to get him to follow. [/div] "Swimming? I'm not really a great swimmer. The whole 'can't see' thing...you know." It was only natural that Damian would be nervous about swimming. But the fact that the fountain wasn't deep only made it an even better swimming place for Damian than a pool would. It was just all too perfect. "Where would you go, anyway?" Shiloh's smile widened and his eyes sparked with mischief. "Come on, I'll show you."
He laughed a little and stood up from the bench, the wood creaking as he did so. The teen zoomed in on the fountain once more, as if he needed more confirmation on how deep the water was. It simply reassured what he had already known. "Don't worry, it isn't deep. Trust me mate." He was being a little vague on to where they were swimming, but he would make sure to tell his roommate soon. Shiloh tapped a hand on Damian's shoulder, signaling for him to follow. He made sure to stay close to his blind friend so that Damian could at least hear his shoes against the stone ground. "Oh, and don't bother grabbing a bathing suit. Just swim in your clothes." It was exactly like Shiloh to assume that he would get his friend to swim in the fountain with limited persuasion. So far his roommate seemed like a pretty go with the flow guy, and this wasn't only a great way to cool off but sort of a test for Damian.
As they approached the stone fountain, the mischevious glint in the nineteen year old's eyes grew. He sat down on the wall bordering the water and began pulling off his shoes and socks. "We're swimming in a fountain by the way." It was said so nonchalantly that if you hadn't really listened it would look as though he had just offered that they swim in a normal swimming pool instead of the courtyard fountain. And with that last comment Shiloh stepped into the water with a splash, letting the water soak into the legs of his jeans. "It's only like a foot and a half. Perfect huh? But there's a bit of a step so be careful." He flicked a bit of water towards Damian. Some may view it as helping his friend find the water, but to Shiloh he just wanted to splash someone. that they aren’t fun.

. tell the world i'm coming home . The groan of the bench as Shiloh stood very nearly matched Damian's own mental one. He hadn't know his roommate for long, but he was quickly learning that his plans were rarely good for the other occupant's health. There was a beat, and then Shiloh tempted again, "Don't worry, it isn't deep. Trust me mate." He couldn't help the snort that escaped him and he muttered, "Yeah, that's always a safe thing to do." Despite his words, he pushed off the bench, following the tap on his shoulder and the sound of Shiloh's feet. Frankly, he couldn't figure out why he was going along with the plan that his friend had, so far, refused to explain. Unless it was due to the fact that he was pretty sure Shiloh wouldn't just let it go if he did argue. So, instead, he just shook his head at the swimming suit comment. "Psh, I was going to make you go get. I'm not walking all the way back to the dorms."
Damian heard Shiloh stop, and then the hushing sound of jeans as the boy sat. The sound of falling water was much louder, now only a couple feet away. Intrigued, Damian heaved a sigh, letting the air push against the new obstacle just as Shiloh informed him, very casually, that it was a fountain. It was a big fountain, too, the water falling through three tiers before it hit the pool beneath. It was into the last pool that Shiloh stepped with a small splashing noise. "It's only like a foot and a half. Perfect huh? But there's a bit of a step so be careful." Damian struggled out of his own shoes and socks as Shiloh spoke, and then followed the sound toward the water. The splash that Shiloh sent in his direction hit his face, making Damian scowl. Scowling through a smile, Damian scrambled over the small wall around the fountain and stood in the cool water. "You shouldn't have splashed me; now I have to destroy." With those words, he sent a blast of air into the pool in an attempt to create a small wave to hit his roommate. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Revan Ashkevron was slightly annoyed. She had been wandering through the Labyrinth in the gardens of Silas Academy for several hours now, and she was pretty sure she was lost. She paused for a moment, looking down at the large silver-grey cat that padded along beside her. Rinzler was his name, and he'd been Revan's faithful companion for two years. "This is your fault, you know," she said to him, conversationally. "If you hadn't decided to try to come and find me, I wouldn't be in this mess.""Mrow," Rinzler said, twining his body around Revan's legs, heedless of the fact that he was getting silver fur all over Revan's dark blue pants. Revan sighed. As soon as we get back to the dorms, I'm giving Rinzler a thorough grooming. He's definitely overdue for one. First, we have to get out of here, though. It appeared that she would have to use her powers to get herself out of this mess. And that would mean dropping most of her shields. She swallowed hard and did so, reaching out with her senses. To her surprise and pleasure, she was actually very close to the edge of the maze. "Come on, Rinz," she said, a rare smile gracing her face. "Let's go home."Revan and Rinzler turned the final corner to the entrance/exit of the Labyrinth, only to be drenched with a deluge of water. Rinzler yowled in protest and shot off towards the dormitory buildings, while Revan stood still for a moment, spluttering in shock. She brushed her now soaking wet hair out of her eyes and looked towards the source of the water. Two boys were playing in the fountain, and, from the look on the orange-eyed one's face, he was the one who had splashed her. "Umm....hi," she said. {OOC: To see Revan's outfit, click here. When wet, it sticks to her like a second skin. }

Quick decisions can be dangerous. but that doesn't mean ONE LAST THING: None [/div] "You shouldn't have splashed me; now I have to destroy you." Shiloh raised an eyebrow, curious as to how the blind teen planne to 'destroy him'. His question was answered fairly quickly as his roommate blew a gust of air, sending a small wave of water towards him. Oh, so that's how. He turned, causing the wave to slosh up against his right side. The orange eyed teen stumbled, catching his balance by grabbing onto part of the stone fountain.
He shook his head, letting droplets of water fall off of his hair and face. The nineteen year old smirked, pointing a finger towards his friend, "Oh, you are dead my friend." Shiloh cupped both of his hands in the water before bringing them up sharply. Water flew up into the air, but Damian moved just to the left, causing the water to find a different target.
In a matter of seconds Shiloh found himself staring at a dripping wet girl. Whatever animal was following her ran off, and for a second Shiloh thought it was some over grown squirrel. But at closer inspection and after hearing it hiss Shiloh realized that it was merely a cat. As his attention focused back on the girl he could not help but burst into laugher and fall onto his behind, water splashing up again. "Umm....hi," The orange eyed teen smirked, standing up and grabbing Damian's shoulder in order to spin him around. This way Damian was also facing the girl. He figured that his friend could use his little air technique if he found the need, but that it would work better if he was looking the right way. "Well hello there." There was still evidence of laughter in his voice as Shiloh had no shame in showing it. "I think your squirr-I mean cat ran off."
The teen sat back down into the water, resting his arms on the wall bordering the water. He looked so calm even when breaking rules, something that came natural to Shiloh. His roommate was also doing fairly well considering they were standing in a fountain. Whether this was from peer pressure or just him wanting to have fun Shiloh didn't care, the point was that Damian had gotten in and to him that made him pass the test.
At another glance Shiloh realized just how thoroughly he had soaked her. Her outfit was sticking to her, emphasizing every curve and feature of her body. Any other boy would have looked away, blushing profusely, yet Shiloh was not one of those boys. In fact his mischevious grin grew and another laugh escaped his mouth, "Nice outfit. Fits you well." Was he flirting with her? No, he was merely making his usual snarky comments. that they aren’t fun.

. tell the world i'm coming home . Damian couldn't help laughing triumphantly at the sounds of Shiloh's stumbling when the wave hit. Success! He took a moment for his victory pose - one arm bent to put a fist beside his ear while the other held a flat hand pointed diagonally toward the sky. Shiloh had to ruin it, of course, by attacking back. Damian heard the splash of the water as his roommate scooped it into the air and could guess where it was aimed well enough that he scrambled out of the way. He was rewarded with a horrible, animal sound, and very human-sounding spluttering. Apparently, Shiloh had hit some poor, innocent bystander.
Shiloh splashed into the fountain water laughing while he sent up a spray that soaked Damian's leg. The blind man frowned in confusion, though he stayed quiet when he heard a girl's voice. He thought she must have been the one accidentally on the receiving end of the splash-gone-wrong. Why exactly Shiloh was laughing escaped Damian, and he figured it must be something his friend could see. Which, of course, made him curious enough to really regret his blindness. As though reading his mind, Shiloh climbed to his feet and spun Damian around so that, he assumed, he faced the girl. While Shiloh greeted the girl, Damian held up a hand in a half-wave while he blew a small gust of wind. It hit the girl and sent back a clear enough picture for him to tell that her soaking had pressed her clothes to her body. Very close to her body. Flushing slightly, Damian decided to leave the wind alone, turning his attention instead to the splash from beside him - Shiloh sitting once again in the water.
"Nice outfit. Fits you well." Shaking his head at his roommate's teasing comment, Damian used the side of his foot to kick water at the easy target Shiloh now presented. "You just got her all wet; the least you could do is be nice." In the girl's direction, he directed a smile and a friendly, "You okay?" As long as she kept her distance for the time being, he had no problem with her being there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Revan blushed bright red at the orange-eyed boy's comment. Looking down at herself, she realized that her normally-loose clothing was sticking to her body like a second skin. She felt a soft brush of air against her and shivered slightly. Seconds later, the other boy flushed and looked away, his embarrassment clear. He's blind, she realized. He uses the wind to see, like bats with sonar.
Revan's gaze turned to the orange-eyed boy again. There was no trace of embarrassment from him, and he was staring at her avidly. Well, at least he's appreciative, she found herself thinking, and flushed again at her own thoughts. She smiled at the blind boy, not sure if he could 'see' it. "A bit wet, but none the worse for wear otherwise," she said easily, wringing the water from her dark hair. "My name's Revan," she said, moving over to a stone bench and sitting down. The warmth of the day would dry her off soon enough, and her clothes wouldn't be harmed by the surprise soaking. It seemed her day had gotten more interesting, and she wasn't about to question the change to the normal routine. Playing in the fountain was technically against the rules but Revan didn't feel like spoiling the boys' fun, and it was obviously an easy way to cool off. "And you?" Her question was mainly directed to the orange-eyed boy who had followed her with his gaze and was still watching, but included the other boy as well.

Quick decisions can be dangerous. but that doesn't mean ONE LAST THING: None [/div] After Shiloh's comment he felt another splash on his side from the blind student. He let out a sigh, rubbing the water away from his face before delivering another splash towards Damian, making sure it hit this time. "You just got her all wet; the least you could do is be nice." Shiloh rolled his eyes, Damian was lucky that the teen thought of him as a friend or he may not put up with the other student trying to tell him what to do. "You okay?" While his roommate was busy being the nice guy, Shiloh found himself a spot right where the water poured off one of the three ledges. The cool liquid splashed onto his head, and the nineteen year old closed his eyes so as to not to get any water in them.
Even with his eyes shut he could still pinpoint every motion the other two students made, whether it be something louder like walking or as quiet as shifting on their toes. He loved testing his powers and pushing his limits. Sometimes if he concentrated really hard he found that he could hear noises and see things at almost a mile away.
The girl spoke again but Shiloh barely opened his eyes, still trying to focus on the sounds of their movements. "A bit wet, but none the worse for wear otherwise," At least the girl wasn't going to exaggerate the splashing situation. Shiloh didn't feel like having his little 'swim' ruined by a simple argument. "My name's Revan," The teen picked up the sound of skin touching hair followed by water dripping onto the ground and determined that she was wringing her hair out. "And you?" He could hear what sounded like her wet clothing touch stone, and let one eye open in order to confirm his suspicions of her sitting down onto the bench. He was correct.
"I'm Shiloh." Scooting forward and out of the falling water, Shiloh attached himself back to the conversation. He hadn't really expected another student to bother really striking up a converation when they were clearly breaking rules. The teen could imagine a teacher yelling at them or another student rolling their eyes at their behavior but starting an actual converation he hadn't thought of. He was trying to figure out whether he would regret splashing the other student or if the meeting would lead to anything worth while. that they aren’t fun.

. tell the world i'm coming home . Damian stepped sideways in surprise when the water hit his leg, soaking the jean nearly to his hip. He considered splashing the teen back, but dismissed the idea. It would probably cause more trouble in the middle of the conversation than it was worth. Instead, he cocked his head to listen with half an ear to the water splashing off Shiloh's head, even as he smiled at the girl's comment about being wet. He was glad to hear she wasn't going to make a big deal out of it, because he'd hate to get in trouble for playing around. Besides, what kind of damage could water do, really? ...Though it was hard to say with girls' clothes...
"My name's Revan." The girl's introduction was accompanied by the splash of water on pavement - whether that was from her hair or clothes, Damian couldn't be sure, and wasn't willing to risk the air trick again. A second later he heard her settle on the bench, and then Shiloh slid out of the spray to answer Revan's question. While he spoke, Damian reached down to settle himself in the water with his roommate. Why not be comfortable? Once he was sitting, he smiled at the new girl, speaking through his accent. "Damian. It's a pleasure." Damian fell silent, waiting for one of the others to speak instead. He couldn't remember being comfortable around new people - admittedly, Shiloh hadn't been so bad - and wasn't willing to bare his soul just yet. On the other hand, he knew he'd have to overcome that discomfort eventually, and so he sort of hoped the girl would stick around. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quick decisions can be dangerous. but that doesn't mean ONE LAST THING: None [/div] A path of ripples followed Shiloh's finger as it trailed along the water. Ignoring his fellow mutants, he zoomed in to the ripples with his talented eyes. The edges of his vision blurred while the center remained sharp as he focused in on the water. From this point of view the ripples looked like waves being created by a giant castle of a rock that sliced through the fountain's ocean, the rock being his finger. He was in no way challenging the extent of his abilities, but simply enjoying the peaceful perks that came with them. Sure his power was useful in fighting, giving him the chance to see the slightest muscle twitch and react before the person could strike, but he also found his vision and hearing useful for merely observing things that most people couldn't with the naked eye. Tranquility was a rare thing for Shiloh to feel, but he never tried to push away the feeling when it came. Right now that feeling was upon him, already guaranteeing to be short lived.
"Damian. It's a pleasure." His eyes snapped back to normal vision so fast that it made his head hurt for a second or two. The tranquility brought on from the fountain waves had vanished, leaving Shiloh feeling slightly angry. But for once he managed to swallow down his temper, knowing that he couldn't yell at Damian for just introducing himself to the girl. Even with his temper lowered he still didn't feel very happy with the rare feeling shatters. One hand wandered up to rub his aching temple in an attempt to rid himself of the lingering headache. "You think they have security cameras around here?" Shiloh's eyes remained fixed on the fountain water, his hand slowly dropping back down to his side. "If there are . . ." His smirk suddenly returned and a short laugh escaped him. Normal Shiloh was back. "I bet they're laughing their asses off." The tranquility was always short lived, but most of the time Shiloh found a little chaos much more fun anyway. that they aren’t fun.

A rare genuine smile made its way onto Revan's face at Damian's words. "It's nice to meet you, Shiloh, Damian." Revan finished wringing the water out of her hair and debated putting the scrunchy back in. Finally she decided to leave it unbound as she let the sun dry her.
Revan flinched slightly as she caught the edge of Shiloh's headache, and tried to tighten her shields. There was something about the orange-eyed boy that drew Revan's empathic attention. For some reason, his emotions were like a flare of light in the patchwork of color that Revan sensed the world as. Like a moth to a flame, Revan couldn't help but be attracted. She turned her visual gaze on Damian, her emerald eyes sparkling in the sunlight as they took in his rather rugged appearance, but her inner senses were trained on Shiloh. "I don't think we have security cameras here," she told orange-eyed boy. "At least, in three years of looking, I've never been able to find any." She shrugged. "But then, I've never really made a project out of it. There are all sorts of other more interesting things to do."
