Quick decisions can be dangerous. but that doesn't mean ONE LAST THING: None [/div] After his snarky comment, Shiloh would hear his blind friend shift in his seat before saying something. "Are you trying to fail? 'Cause I think it's working." The nineteen year old let a small smile cross his face and shrugged. In all honesty he wasn't sure exactly what it was he was doing. Shiloh didn't normally question why he did what he did or what outcome he wanted to come from it, all he knew was that when his mind told him to do something he wouldn't hesitate. At the moment his mind was telling him to bug the teacher, and the teen was following along willingly. But failing a class wasn't exactly what he wanted to do, at least that was what his mind said. However, if failing a class was what bugged Jasper then Shiloh would consider doing just that.
The smile didn't leave his face as he felt his heart beating with anticipation for the teacher's reaction. So many teachers were easy to predict, but this professor wasn't. He had shown signs of sarcasm, annoyance, and just a smidge of anger. Shiloh was betting that he would get a combination of all three in the teacher's response. As the teacher walked over to look through some files Shiloh felt an urge to start humming the theme song from Jaws. For once he resisted his mind, instead playing it inside his head.
Jasper had finished looking through what appeared to be his file, probably filled with a variety of Shiloh's infractions. The saracastic professor leaned against a chair in front of the impulsive teen, his expression still calm. "Shiloh, right?" He nodded his head slightly, assuming that the professor would have known that from his file already. Shiloh raised an eyebrow, still waiting for the true reaction. "My rules are simple. You failed to follow them." So now I fail you? That would be something that Shiloh would expect as it made sense. He did say that if he called the professor Jazz that he would fail. Yet again, he had technically called him Jazzy, not Jazz, but he doubted the teacher would be too pleased about his response anyway.
"Get out." Now that wasn't entirely expected, still not super suprising but at least not what Shiloh had thought. He was at least thinking that Jasper would be strong enough to handle the misbehaving teen for at least another class. "Come back when you decide to grow up." To Shiloh he was technically an adult, he was nineteen after all. But to him that didn't mean that he couldn't still live his impulsive lifestyle. Nonetheless. Shiloh saw no real gain to him refusing to stay in the class and facing Jasper's hidden rage. As the professor turned back to the board Shiloh was able to get up from his seat, picking up his bag as he did. "Shame, you were actually one of the fun teachers." It was true, even though he was constantly throwing his little vocal jabs at Jasper he was still enjoying the fact that he threw some back. It was like a verbal fight, something that Shiloh rarely did yet was starting to enjoy.
Before he left the teen turned to look over his shoulder at his roommate. "See you back at the room Damian." He hoped that his friend didn't fall behind on what Jasper was teaching as he didn't feel like having to deal with a stressed out roommate back at the dorm. "Shia! If you would be so kind as to take this fool's vacated seat and help our blind friend over here, I'd greatly appreciate it. Maybe I'll even take a couple minutes off the time you get to stay over." At least Jasper was throwing the kid some help in the form of a late student. Confident that that class had been interesting and exciting enough for Shiloh's job to be over, the teen opened the door and left.

What had his name been again? Grigori? She kinda liked that. One of her characters in a creative writing class had been Grigori. Of course, he had been a sweet, darkskinned, playful but ver sick youngster with a heart of gold and just downright cuddly.
Where as she doubted very much that her instructor was the type to care for cuddling very much at all.
She had been looking over the board curiously, looking over the numbers the instructor had written there when Mr. Grigori made his way towards the three of them, or namely, the funky-eyed guy. She did try her best not to stare, but this was the first reaction she was going to see from her instructor. And it was probably a good idea to see how he handled such situations.
And, oh dear. Shia did not like the look of that at all...Had Mr. Grigori just sent a student out of the class room for calling him a pet name? She couldn't help but look worriedly at Shiloh(apparently that was his name) before looking back to Mr. Grigori. "Ah!" she almost said something as Shiloh stood to leave, grin on his face. But what could she say? She had come in late, after all, and she didn't know these men.
So instead she just clasped her hands together tighter and looked down at her desk. Until her name was spoken. She jumped in surprise, standing halfway only for her knees to bang against the desk. She reached out to grab it, so neither she, the desk of her chair fell and ended up standing there awkwardly, wincing at her soon to be bruised knees. "Ow! Wh-what? Blind...?" She looked to Damian, quick to understand Mr. Grigori's meaning. She looked to Shiloh as he left and tried straightening herself out, sliding her desk a little closer to Damian.
"Ah..." she started, sinking into her seat, warily watching the instructor before turning back to Damian. "Ex-excuse me, again...If you need anything, let me know...I'll write notes for you to take with you for Shiloh to explain, if you like?"

. tell the world i'm coming home . Damian could feel the venom in Jasper's look, even though it wasn't directed at him. (How Shiloh hadn't burst into the flames was beyond him.) After a moment, the gaze shifted and he listened to Jasper stride across the room. Cardboard and paper rustled, sending Damian's heart into his stomach. Files. Jasper had files on them too. How much did he know? Why is that so important? He managed to make himself relax at the thought, adding to it the fact that Jasper didn't seem to have read the files anyway. Neither had Mr. Sage...Did any of the teachers? What was the point of even having them? To check up on students getting in trouble, he supposed, listening to Jasper snap the file shut and throw it on the desk. A second later he was near their desks, standing just in front of Shiloh's.
Jasper's voice remained steady as he spoke to Shiloh, and Damian couldn't help but wonder if he was going to get through it before Shiloh made a smart-mouthed comment. Much to his surprise, not only did Jasper get through the lecture, he ended it with two simple words, "Get out." He was kicking Shiloh out? Damian was surprised it took only a nickname to get under the teacher's skin. On the other hand, he wasn't as surprised as he thought he should be to see Shiloh being kicked out. At least "until he had grown up." Jasper returned to his own desk before Shiloh got to leave, giving Damian only a short " "See you back at the room Damian." Damian waved one hand slightly, his mind buzzing as he tired to figure out what he was going to do about learning; Shiloh had been his only chance. Oh yeah, and the new girl.
"Shia! If you would be so kind as to take this fool's vacated seat and help our blind friend over here, I'd greatly appreciate it..." Damian felt his cheeks heat slightly - she had been the only person who didn't know about him - and then jerked in surprise in his seat when something banged into her desk. At her cry of pain, his own knee throbbed sympathetically, effectively driving the color from his cheeks. Shia seemed confused at first with the instructions, though she caught on quickly and he could feel her looking at him. Damian held his hand up in a half-salute, half-wave, and sighed as her desk inched closer.
"Ah...Ex-excuse me, again..." He tilted his face in her direction, trying to smile, despite his reservations at Shiloh's abrupt departure. "If you need anything, let me know...I'll write notes for you to take with you for Shiloh to explain, if you like?" Irritation flared slightly at her words, and he squashed it down immediately, feeling embarrassed. She was only offering to help; just like any normal person would. His shoulder throbbed at the thought, and he rubbed it absently, feeling the ridge of an old scar beneath the material as he nodded. "That'd be great, actually. Er...I'll let you know if I need anything else?" He gave her another short smile, and turned his attention to Jasper, suddenly beginning to wish the stressful class would end. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

jasper grigorisit down, shut up, and hang on for the ride With his back still turned to the class, Jasper didn't see Shia jump, but he heard it and smiled slightly in satisfaction. He hadn't startled her on purpose really. He just liked to be unpredictable. He also liked to get the respect he was due, and was glad that at least one person in the class would listen to him. Well, two really. He had a suspicion that the blind kid wasn't all that bad away from the idiot. Shiloh seemed to be one of those people who pushed others into stupidity. In a school like Silas, it was a dangerous thing. Then again, it wasn't Jasper's job to play psychologist. Honestly, he didn't know why he was putting so much thought into it in the first place.
Turning back around, he watched as Shiloh made his way to the door and Shia scooted over to help Damian out. Damian looked a bit red in the face and it was hard to tell if it was from anger or embarrassment. Not that it mattered. He was here and he was at least trying to pay attention unlike some others. Most eyes were on Shiloh or Jasper, as if they were waiting for more drama. Well, he sincerely hoped that he wouldn't be giving it to them. He'd had enough drama to last him a lifetime and he wasn't eager to see more of it. He even had the scars to prove it. Not that he'd ever admit to the scars on the inside. No, those he buried ruthlessly. The ones on the outside were of small consequence compared to those.
"Shame, you were actually one of the fun teachers." Jasper resisted the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose in frustration. Without second guessing what he was doing, he spoke. "Shiloh, I think I somehow gave you the wrong impression. It doesn't matter if I'm a fun teacher or not. It doesn't matter if you ever come back to this class or not. I don't give a rat's ass if you pass or fail. That screws with your life, not mine." He kept his voice neutral, as always, but he was frustrated beyond belief at this kid. Two weeks in boot camp was what he really needed. A year long tour in hostile territory wouldn't go amiss, either, if he guessed right. "I do advise you one thing, though. If I'm such a fun teacher, I suggest you make up your mind to come back. But if you do, you'll keep your sarcastic comments to yourself and follow my rules. It's not complicated, it's not difficult, and I'm not going to hold your hand and walk you though how to behave."
In times like these, he wished he had a more active power. Perhaps one that would allow him to slam the door without moving. Of course, if he had a different power, his life would have turned out much differently. Hell, he might even be happy. As it was, there wasn't much else he could do but cuss Shiloh out in some long-forgotten language, but that wouldn't do anyone any good. Then again, it might make him feel better. Still, he refrained and turned his attention back to the remaining students. "I very rarely apologize for anything, but as Mr. Wright here obviously has no intention of apologizing for disrupting the class, I apologize on his behalf. Now, not that anyone was actually working through the problem during that, does anyone know the answer to the current equation?" He paused for a moment, a slight smile curving his lips. "Yeah, I wouldn't either. Open your books to page fifty-seven and read the introduction paragraph on matrices."

Quick decisions can be dangerous. but that doesn't mean ONE LAST THING: notes [/div] His hand extended out towards the door, the teen was about to exit the classroom when the teacher spoke out again. "Shiloh, I think I somehow gave you the wrong impression. It doesn't matter if I'm a fun teacher or not. It doesn't matter if you ever come back to this class or not. I don't give a rat's ass if you pass or fail. That screws with your life, not mine." He brought his hand back from the door and more to his side. Still facing the doorway he smiled; clearly Jasper had gotten the wrong impression from Shiloh, as the teen didn't care whether or not he failed the class as he was already guaranteed a job at his family's owl sanctuary. He was here for the fun, and most likely always would be. If this made him a child he didn't care, in fact he thought of it as taking a chance and merely living a little.
"I do advise you one thing, though. If I'm such a fun teacher, I suggest you make up your mind to come back. But if you do, you'll keep your sarcastic comments to yourself and follow my rules." Unlikely Jazzy. "It's not complicated, it's not difficult, and I'm not going to hold your hand and walk you through how to behave." Shiloh wasn't asking for someone to teach him how to behave. In his mind he was behaving as someone given his oppurtunities should, and there was close to no possibility that he was going to change that over one little warning.
With the smile on his face growing into a smirk the teen looked back at the teacher. "Yes sir." His voice was strong and almost serious, yet his expression told otherwise. Shiloh grabbed the door handle and opened up the door once more, the smirk still evident on his face. Looking over his shoulder the strange eyed teen uttered one more phrase before leaving, "But don't hold your breath on that." Nobody was going to change how this teen lived out his day, whether it be Jasper or even the headmistress for that matter. He controlled his behavior, and for the moment he was quite fond of it. that they aren’t fun.

Had she made a boo boo? Said something wrong? Something to offend him? She certainly had not meant to! She was sure this guy was quite capable of fending for himself! She wasn't trying to insinuate that he wasn't at all. But...Perhaps that how he took her offer for help.
Well, drat. There wasn't much she'd be able to do to change his mind on that, now was there? No. But she'd do her best not to make him feel inconvenienced by her again. She simply cleared her throat and sent him a smile she now knew he couldn't see and nodded, again realizing he couldn't see and instead sighed, covering her eyes with one hand in defeat. "Umm. Yeah. Just...Let me know if there's anything I can do..."
She glanced between the student and teacher in their standoff, her eyes widened at the tension continuing to mount there, trying her utmost to be as small and unnoticeable as possible, not wanting to get in the middle of that. She winced as the door opened for Shiloh. Well, this first class was going quite well, wasn't it? She glanced back to the board an expression of absolute worry on her face as the teacher began going over things again and quickly flipped her book open when he said they should. She then pulled out a highlighter, a piece of paper and a pen, so she could highlight what she needed and take notes for Damian, however reluctant he seemed to be to accept them.
She paused again. The teacher had said read the first paragraph, right? Oh...flip! She turned toward Damian, leaning forward a bit with the book in her. "Umm...I'll read for you, ok?"
