It was around sunset as it was the perfect time, to get some pictures. So she made sure she was in good location to get a good angle. First she took pictures of the sun and then she started to look around for more shots as she was taking some of the graves in the background as she walked more into the graveyard. She started to see a tree and it was a big tree so she then took some good pictures of it.
The was started to set as she knew it was time to leave but she wasn't scared of the shadows as she could use them. At first it scared her, then she had gotten control of it. She used them to her self-defense. Carrying around a bag to fit her camera and her things that she needed for them. The one thing that got her attention was that she heard a tree branch crack. It meant that someone was here. That made her nervous it always did, so she looked around as then started to walk again.

Jeremy knew that, technically he should probably not being wandering around. Granted, it wasn't after curfew, so he was pretty sure he couldn't actually get punished. But it was during supper, and there were some teachers with weird ideas. So, he thought, not running into a teacher seemed like a good idea, just to be safe.
Of course, the teacher that was currently wandering through the graves a few feet away made that a little harder. Jeremy tried to move past without her seeing, crouching behind the graves and running low when she wasn't looking. He was doing a good job of it, too. Until he stepped on the stupid branch that had been so inconsiderate as to sit in his path. The resulting crack sounded like thunder to Jeremy, and he dove behind the nearest gravestone, flattening himself as far down as he could.
Just keep walking...Don't come looking for me... After a moment of silent praying, he peeked around the stone. And saw the teacher moving away. He pumped the air in relief and climbed to his feet, running bent double toward the chapel. He was almost there. And then the gravestone leapt in front of him. Because, of course, it hadn't been there moments before. (He would insist on that for the rest of his life.) Jeremy's knee hit the grave with a noise that was inaudible over his yelp as he landed face-first in the soft dirt.

Kate turned back around as she had heard a yelp in the air as it was coming from the chapel area. She started to walk towards the area, ready to use the shadows if it came to it. She wasn't a violent person by natural but she would use self-defense. "Hello anyone there" She called through out the grave-yard as she hoped it wasn't a student but if it was a student, she would be relived that it was someone dangerous.
Walking back into the grave yard as she was trying to find who was there and she then found a student it was Jeremy. She saw him face first into the dirt.
"Are you okay" She had asked him as it did look like it hurt as she saw the mess that he had made.

Yep. That was the story of his life: if it could go wrong, it would. As demonstrated by the teacher's voice over his head. He rolled to his feet, brushed himself down, and put on his most charming smile. It was the photography teacher to whom it was aimed, a teacher hadn't had much opportunity to butter up with his wit and charm. Not time like the present, though...
"Evening, Professor Lockheart." He glanced casually at the chapel, and then back at the teacher. "Yeah, I'm alright. It...uh...happens a lot." This was both true and not: he was no dancer when it came to grace, but he rarely actually hit the ground. A small force field could stop most catastrophes. Casually, he tried to draw attention away from the topic. "I was just visiting the chapel. I have a paper on the...Bedell family." He had very nearly forgotten the family's name, and he prayed Prof. Lockheart hadn't caught his pause.

Blake grumbled quietly to herself as she trudged through the cemetary. Blake was never one to like homework, and the fact that she had to do it in the cemetary didn't settle well with her. Her homework assignment was to collect a certain plant sample for her bio class and while she would have gone to the garden like most of the other students in her class, the garden was so crowded with her fellow classmates that she decided that it would be better to look for the plant in the cemetary. Although most of the ground was dirt, she could still see a few plants here and there and was determined to find the required plant before it got too dark.
As she moved through the cemetary she kept her eyes looking at the ground so that she may perhaps find the plant. Blake thought that she saw the plant her bio teacher asked for and bent down to take a better look at it. She held the photo up next to it, her eyes looking from left to right as she tried to determine whether she had found the plant. As she was about to pick the plant she heard the sound of something hitting stone and the thud of somebody hitting the ground which startled her. She fell forward and smushed the delicate plant under her palm.
Blake let out a sound of frustration before shouting, "Stupid homework! Stupid bio! Stupid . . . ugh," She paused, momentarily forgetting what she was shouting about, ". . . bio homework!"

Kate was looking at him as it was getting darker she was started to get a little nervous. Not wanting to be in the cemetery at night as it was not her favorite time of the day it was her least favorite time. She looked at him as he wondered what he was doing here in dusk and a paper wouldn't bring him here unless he did the research and needed to get pictures or something of the nature but he didn't a camera around.
"Alright, Well it's getting late, I think we should be heading back now. I am sure you have gotten what you were coming for or have gotten already" She said as she then looked at him. Eager to get out of the getting darker by the minute graveyard. Pulling her camera bag closer to herself. You would think someone would could use the shadows would like the darkness but it was the opposite with her. Looking around acting like something would come out of the shadows and grab her. (it was silly but that is how she felt some of the times). Letting out a sigh of relief when she saw the entrance to the graveyard.

Professor Lockheart's steady scrutiny nearly made him shift nervously. But he'd had too much practice for that. So he continued smiling at the woman until she spoke. When she finally did, he felt his stomach drop into his feet. He hadn't been in the chapel yet, and he...sorta needed to. Fortunately, a blonde girl having a small break down provided him a moment to think. As the girl finished yelling, he took a second glance at her and realized he recognized her. In fact, the two were fairly good friends. Blake sat next to him in Lit. 101 and laughed at the jokes he told to keep himself awake. A sudden idea had him pulling his smile back on his face as he hurried to his friend's side.
"Blake, there you are!" As soon as he got close enough, he realized she was staring down at something on the ground, and he squatted beside her to frown at it. He had no idea what it had been - except that he was pretty sure it used to be a plant of some sort -or even what exactly you'd call it now. Still, it would work for his plan. "I can't leave yet, Professor, I have to help Blake find a replacement...plant. Since it was my fault she fell." Even as he spoke, he waved the teacher gallantly away. "You don't need to stay for us, though. We'll be fine." He just prayed Blake didn't blow his cover.

Blake looked over to see her friend Jeremy. He always gave her something to do when she was in class and she appreciated him for that. She herself always spaced out in class and stared at the clock while she waited for the bell to ring. Blake didn't care much about academics and would usually spend most of her time in class talking and joking around, making her a teacher's worst nightmare. The only actual class she paid attention in was art class, mostly because to her it was just like arts-and-crafts from preschool. But when she had to go to her most hated class English, she was glad she had someone to keep her entertained.
"Oh hey Jeremy!" She grinned, almost forgetting about her smushed plant. Jeremy seemed to be trying to convince the professor to allow him to stay a little longer and using Blake as an excuse to stay. Her eyes widened as he told the professor of how it was his fault that Blake fell and smushed her plant. "That was y-" Blake stopped herself, realizing that now was not the time to be angry over her flattened bio homework. She decided that it would be nice to actually have some help finding another plant and chose to just go with the flow. "Oh, ugh yeah I do need help finding another plant." Blake got up from the ground and placed a hand on her friend's shoulder, gripping it a little tight as if to say, 'You better actually help me find a plant and not run off.'

Kate looked at the both of them as she then nodded her head as it was near dinner time. So she knew that they had work to be done, as she just came out to get some pictures and was itching to get them developed. "Alright if you two insist, Don't miss curfew and there might be left overs in the kitchen if you get hungry. Don't be late for class especially if you signed up for my class." She said as she was feeling weird by leaving them alone. But the feeling of being out in the dark was making her uneasy even more.
So she finished heading out of the graveyard as she had gotten some great shots and would use them as samples for when she had to teach her class tomorrow morning which gave her butterflies but she was excited at the same time to hopefully be there for the students and guide them. It what she had signed up for. So she knew the walk wasn't long to get back to the school to develop the pictures she had taken. Also she had a nice cottage as she liked to call it. Since it was a one story house, it came with furnishings in it. As she didn't have any to begin with it so it was perfect for her.

Relief flooded through Jeremy when the teacher turned to walk away, and he let loose a short sigh. As soon as he could be sure the woman wasn't faking them out, he turned to beam at Blake. "That was great. Thanks." He glanced over at her hand gripped tight on his shoulder and his smile became a guilty one. "Sorry about you're homework, that was and accident."
For a moment, Jeremy considered slipping away to finish checking the chapel, and then dismissed the idea. For one thing, he didn't think Blake would let him go without making a scene, and for another he really did owe her the help. So he stood and glanced around the cemetery at the sparse vegetation. If Blake's homework was to find a plant, he wasn't sure why she had come here and not gone somewhere more practical, like the garden or the forest. Anywhere else would have made more sense, really...But, he figured, whatever. Her homework, her choice.
"So...what plant are you looking for?" He had seen the paper clutched in Blake's fist, but couldn't tell what was on it. He hoped it was a picture, though, and a good one. Plants all looked alike to Jeremy, and if the picture wasn't good, he wasn't sure he could be much help. But he was willing to try, so he shoved his hands in his pockets and waited for her answer.

Jeremy stepped to Blake's side so he could peer over her shoulder at the picture while she spoke. He had never seen the plant before and couldn't imagine what i would be used for. Chives were some sort of food, weren't they? Maybe the Bio teacher was a closet cook...Okay, maybe not. He squinted at the picture in the failing light, trying to remember what the flower made him think of..."It is funky-looking..." It hit him suddenly what it looked like. "Your bio professor wants a Who? Does he at least have a Horton to go with it?" He flashed a smile, and then moved away to try and find the illusive plant.
He was a few feet away from the blonde when she asked her question, and he cringed slightly. There was nothing wrong about what he was looking for, but it would sounds a little weird. Maybe he could just be vague and she'd accept it. "Uh...I was out here practicing a while ago and left something in the chapel. Nothing dangerous or anything. Just didn't want to leave it lying around, you know?" Jeremy suddenly realized he had an excuse to turn the attention away from himself, and he nodded at Blake. "What are you doing here? It's not really the best place to look for plants, you know."

"Your bio professor wants a Who? Does he at least have a Horton to go with it?" Blake laughed at his witty joke. "He better, 'cause there is no way I'm catching an elephant." As she looked at the picture, she suddenly had an urge to go to the library and rent a Doctor Seuss book just to compare it to the photo. The blonde was actually a little surprised that she even thought of going to the library and it freaked her out a little.
"Uh...I was out here practicing a while ago and left something in the chapel. Nothing dangerous or anything. Just didn't want to leave it lying around, you know?" Blake shrugged, had it not been for her gullible personality she may have called his bluff and asked for him to go and retrieve what she had left at the chapel. But she needed help finding the plant, and she truly believed his story and let it go.
"What are you doing here? It's not really the best place to look for plants, you know." Blake knew that he was right, but there was no way she was about to treck out to the garden or forest at this hour. "It was too crowded at the garden, and it's not like I'm about to go the forest when it's getting dark." Although the graveyard wasn't exactly the most cozy place during night time, the fact that at least the chapel was near made her feel a little better. "Now come on, help me find this Doctor Seuss plant."

Jeremy laughed at Blake's comment, straightening from behind one of the tombstones. No flower there; only some weeds and a very big Caterpillar. Jeremy considered picking up the bug to find out how Blake reacted to them, but let the idea go. She had saved his skin, and that probably wasn't the correct way to pay her back. Scratching the back of his head, he glanced over at the blonde and shook his head, "Now you're just looking at this the wrong way. Think how easy it'd be to find an elephant. I mean, they're not exactly ninjas..." The image of a ninja elephant made Jeremy pause and chuckle for a moment, before he turned back to his friend.
He was pleasantly surprised to find that Blake didn't press him for information on the...items he'd left behind. Instead she had answered his question with a rational that - to Jeremy's surprise - made perfect sense. "Now come on, help me find this Doctor Seuss plant." Jeremy laughed and waved a hand, jogging a bit closer to the blonde. "I'm trying, I'm trying. What are you guys going to do with the plant once we find it?" He bent as he spoke to squint at a plant hidden beneath a clump of weeds. It looked a bit like the picture, he thought, and he poked it once, gently, before calling again to Blake. "Hey, I hear a voice from this plant!"

"Now you're just looking at this the wrong way. Think how easy it'd be to find an elephant. I mean, they're not exactly ninjas..." Blake smiled and laughed at his comment. "Yeah, but I have a feeling that my teacher wouldn't like it if I brought him back a frozen elephant, seeing as that is the only way I could catch it." She was of course referring to her ability to manipulate ice.
Blake bent down near some weeds, pushing some aside as she looked for the elusive purple flower. "You know, I thought that in Dr. Seuss' book, these freakin plants were everywhere." She stood up from the clump of weeds, having not found the desired plant. The nineteen year old checked behind a few gravestones, trying hard to not think about the people that lay buried beneath.
"What are you guys going to do with the plant once we find it?" That was a good question, Blake didn't really have the details as to what they were going to do with the plant. All she knew was that they were to bring in the assigned plant intact. Blake hated when teachers didn't tell them about an assignment before hand, as that didn't help her decide whether or not the class would be worth even showing up for. "Not sure . . . I was going to ditch but I'm sort of curious as to what he wants us to do with the plants." She smiled, a spark in her brown eyes showing. "I could always say that I'm sick if I go to the class and it turns out to be boring." The blonde made a little fake cough, smiling as she did so.
"Hey, I hear a voice from this plant!" His sudden change of volume made Blake jump a little. She jogged over to the plant, bending down to take a better look at it. Sure enough, there was a little Dr. Seuss plant, nestled within the weeds. Blake reached a hand out and picked the elusive plant, careful to not damage it. "Finally, you freaking plant." She pulled out a plastic sandwich bag from her pocket and placed the plant inside before zipping it. "Took long enough."
