The sound of a door opening and closing echoed throughout the corridor halls, the hinges creaking from needing to be oiled. A soft sigh escaped the Professor's pale lips as he looked around his quiet, empty classroom. He was satisfied with how it was - neat, clean, but that was all soon to change. He looked at the clock, seeing that it was only five minutes until the students started coming - he could only hope they would be a few minutes later, so he had a bit more of quiet time. He turned to face his whiteboard, and picked up one of his dry erase markers from its hold on the metal tray near the right side of the board.
He stood looking at the board, his head cocked off to the side, before he pulled off the cap to the marker, and started writing in the middle of the board, his name. Sebastian Blair is what it red. He put the cap back on the marker, and set it back down next to the others - which was very neatly categorized by color name. He looked over his writing, which was semi-neat, and nodded in satisfaction. He then turned to look at the door, blinking as no one had yet entered, and shuffled over to his desk.
He placed a few sheets on his desk, in two different piles, hoping the students would know enough to take one before taking their seats. One was for the basic information - name, age, the basics, and the other was a sheet on what the student hoped to learn and accomplish in his class - biology. He readjusted his tie, which was a striped blue and black colors, and readjusted his jacket, which was buttoned, and a dark blue color. He ran his hand through his dirty blonde hair, and walked around to the front of his desk, and leaned against it, crossing his legs, one over the other. He waited, then, for the students to start appearing.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] Warm my heart or I'll freeze yours The Words: 337 Staring: Blake, Seb, and whoever else posts The Notes None Blake walked through the winding corridors of the school. The heels of her black shoes tapped against the floor. Her hair in a high pony tail and makeup primped to perfection, Blake felt like it was going to be a good day for socializing. Whether this good day was going to spent in class or not she hadn't decided. She had contemplated actually ditching her class today and instead heading down to the Willowbrook Mall. But after realizing that everyone else would be in class and not down at the mall the blonde reluctantly decided to go to her class.
In her mind she was basically pleading that someone would be there to keep her attention. As she had no intentions on actually paying attention to the lesson being taught. As she walked into the classroom, chewing gum of course, her eyes took in her surroundings. It was clean, with the traditional rows of desks and a whiteboard on the front wall. She hadn't expected any different.
She looked towards the board, taking in her professor's name; Sebastian Blair. The blonde walked towards his desk seeing the two stacks of paper. Blake took one of each and waved a quick hello to the professor. One of the sheets was merely for personal information and Blake was fine with filling it out later in class. The other paper however, seemed to be a worksheet to be completed once the class had started. Blake let out a long breath, none to pleased to have actual class work on the first day of Biology.
She chose a desk near the back of the class and hoped that someone would sit next to her and give her something to do during class. Blake let her bag drop next to her seat and once she had sat down she pushed the worksheet to the far corner of her desk. The nineteen year old girl sucked her cheek and started to wonder if going to the mall by herself would really so bad.

Kathryn had gotten used to the busy hallways of Silas. Busy, yes, but loud? Not to Kathryn. She saw lips moving but heard no sound. It had always been that way. She had always been deaf, and she had given up hope on her ears being fixed. She would never, ever, get a cochlear implant. There were too many risks and it would just make her stand out. She wouldn’t belong to the hearing world, or the deaf one. She’d be an outcast... and that was a very bad thing for Kathryn. She thrived around people... and if that was taken away from her, well, she wouldn’t be the happy go lucky girl she was.
Kathryn had a bounce to her step as she walked down the halls, her penguin backpack bounced along with her. Matty was walking with her to class today instead of just poofing up at unexpected times. She was pretty sure he had learned his lesson with the art class accident. As amusing as it was for Kathryn, she knew it was less than amusing for him. She wondered if she had apologized enough times for laughing at him. It almost didn’t seem like it. She did feel bad for him, but he was her sworn enemy-ish! She wasn’t supposed to feel bad for him, nor was she supposed to like him! Sadly he was growing on her like a mould. She was failing miserably at her goal... and it was all Matty’s fault!
As they walked into the classroom , Kathryn noticed the teachers name was written on the board, and there were to piles of paper at the front. She simply glanced back at Matty before skipping off to grab her own papers and snagging a desk next to a girl that was in her class. She was sure she had seen this girl somewhere else before... like in Kathryn’s art class. She smiled vividly as she took her seat next to her at the back. She slipped her backpack off of her shoulders and onto the floor in between her legs. She had her sketchbook and camera in there, as well as a notebook and pencils. She pulled out the two latter things that she knew she would need for this class. Outfit!

Compared to the girl happily walking next to him, Matthias's feet seemed to drag across the ground. Surprisingly, it wasn't because he hated the subject they were going to. The boy liked biology; what sixteen year old male didn't like a class with the potential to cut up something dead and rearrange its organs? Nope, his shuffling feet and determined gaze were because of a bruised ego. He still hadn't gotten over his little art class accident, even going so far as to walk to class for once in order to not have a repeat of last time. It looked like Kathryn was being a good influence on his life. He wasn't disrupting the start of class and for the second time in his life was actually going to be on time, if not a few minutes early.
They were both silent as they got to the classroom. He quirked a brow and nodded at the professor (who looked nothing like the overbearing crab the name on the board first brought to mind). Nope. The professor looked more like the sort of Sebastian that could be found in Twelfth Night, not that Matty had read it or anything, or enjoyed it for that matter. His like of Shakespeare was not something he openly admitted.
Hesitating as he took his own copy of papers, he glanced at Kathryn to see where she'd be sitting. Maybe this would be his chance to finally redeem himself! A cunning smirk dashed across his face. Then he vanished for a moment, reappearing in the back of the room in the seat on Kathryn's other side. The desk wobbled a bit with the force of his entry but remained upright. He didn't fall out of his chair and, best yet, he hadn't ended up sitting on blondie from art class. "Hells yeah! Wicked awesome!" he exclaimed without thinking. His ego had just been restored. And, once again, he had managed to disrupt the start of class.

Dian moved through the halls of Silas Academy, tying to get to her class before she was late. She would have asked where the heck she was going, but she didn't want to stutter, so moved by herself. Without really paying attention, Dian distracted a few other students. Today her hair was a bright red, DEFINITELY not a natural color. It was a if her head was on fire, but Dian had been so accustomed to having odd hair colors, she didn't even notice. Other than her hair, the was nothing different about Dian today, she had wisely decided not to mess with her eyes or skin tone today.
After a little while of being lost, Dian found the biology class room. She silently sighed a breath of relief, it just wouldn't do to be late for her first class. I she had been, that would have been a bad start, and seeing as Dian had never been to an actual school before, she didn't want to screw up immediately. That would have just added to the disaster of being sent away by her own family, by messing up the so called "chance" they gave her. She knew it was all lies, they just didn't want her anymore, and this was the only way to get her away.
She entered, trying not to make a scene, and took a quick look around. The teacher... Sebastian Blair, had written his name on the board. When she had finished looking around, she saw two stacks of paper, and she took one from each pile. When she walked toward the desks, she picked on in the middle and looked at the pieces of paper. They were just little questions, so Dian dug out a pencil from her bag, and went to filling it out. NAME:Diana Bright AGE:17 and so on. When she came across one of the last questions, she had to think for a little bit. Nothing in particular, I just figured this was a good class to take. [/size] Outfit

He let out a small whistle at the time, then noticed a few students started to arrive to his classroom. It seemed so empty for the longest time, having someone finally show was a bit of a surprise to Sebastian. He cleared his throat some, and wiggled his tie a little bit as he watched the first of the students arrive. First was a female, a young blonde haired girl, who seemed to be sort of a trouble maker - but he knocked that guess from his head, and watched her take a seat in the back before another student walked through the classroom.
This was actually a pair - a male and a female. The female seemed to be more uppity than the male, though something was definitively off about her, Sebastian just couldn't pinpoint it. There was a slight annoyance in the air as the male followed behind her. Then, with a puff of smoke, the boy disappeared, and reappeared beside the female. Sebastian slightly rolled his eyes, and turned back to the door, expecting more.
He glanced up at the clock, seeing as it was just about to mark the beginning of class. Then another student came through the door. Another female. Sebastian kind of let out a sigh, hoping the ratio would of been kept even, but he was wrong. There were more females at the moment, than males. Perhaps more students would come as class had began.
Sebastian cleared his throat again, watching as each student that came in grab the two pieces of paper like he was hoping. He watched the facial expressions of each, still leaning against his desk, he crossed his arms over his chest, and began to speak. "Hello Class. As you have noticed, my name is Sebastian Blair," He half pointed to the board behind him. "And in this class, you will learn about the environments in which you live, and the many ecosystems that are present. As well as animals, and being able to dissect creatures, but that comes later in the lesson. Now, for the first day of class, we will not be doing any work." He glanced around at the students. He went to the back of his classroom, to the window, and opened it. He let out a small whistle, and a large bird, and two chipmunks , came crawling in. "These are my companions. The bird is Alastair. He is a Hyacinth Macaw, and a very talkative bird."[/]b Alastair flew in to a perch behind Sebastian's desk, and let out a loud squawk. The chipmunks ran up on Sebastian's shoulders.
"This is Chip and Dale. Yes, they were named after the cartoon characters, but are just like them, believe it or not." He patted both on the head, and set them on the windowsill. "I want you to tell the class a little about yourselves, and your power." Sebastian moved back to the front of the classroom, and leaned against his desk once more, hoping the students would speak.

words // 649 // outfit // click here // tagged // Sebastian, Kathryn, Matty, Dian I tried to do you right WHY'D YOU HAVE TO GO AND TURN INTO ICE Blake glanced over to see a girl sitting down next to her. She recognized her from her art class but couldn't remember her name. The blonde gave a quick smile and hoped that the girl was the talkative type because Blake had no plans to actually be quiet in the class. Sure on the first day she tended to not talk much, but that was only because she needed to see who was outgoing and who wasn't. She didn't want to accidentally end up talking to someone who wasn't going to talk back.
Quick to follow the girl was the redhead boy from her art class. She gave a quiet laugh, remembering how the teacher told her to ice his delicate area after he teleported over a stone park bench and landed on it. But in the blink of an eye the boy had dissappeared in a small puff of smoke. He suddenly reappeared in the seat next to the other girl, causing Blake to jump a little. "Hells yeah! Wicked awesome!" The blonde rolled her brown eyes, it was hard to not want to freeze his feet to the floor in hopes that the obnoxious teen would stay put.
The last person to arrive was a girl with insanely bright colored hair. Each person had their own style and Blake was willing to accept that but this person's hair color was starting to hurt her eyes. Blake instead turned her attention to the teacher who was beginning to speak. "Hello Class. As you have noticed, my name is Sebastian Blair. And in this class, you will learn about the environments in which you live, and the many ecosystems that are present. As well as animals, and being able to dissect creatures, but that comes later in the lesson." Blake stuck her tongue out at the thought of disecting animals. This girl was definately not a fan of blood and guts.
"Now, for the first day of class, we will not be doing any work." At least the professor had that going for him; in all of her other classes the teachers tended to jump right into the lessons, something that Blake was never thrilled about. A few noises coming from the window captured her attention. She turned to look and her mouth hung open as a bird and two chimpunks came through the window. These are my companions. The bird is Alastair. He is a Hyacinth Macaw, and a very talkative bird." She watched the bird fly to the post, her mouth still slightly open. "This is Chip and Dale. Yes, they were named after the cartoon characters, but are just like them, believe it or not."
As the critters all settled in their designated areas Blake could not help but mouth, 'What the hell?' she couldn't see how he planned on them to disect things after looking at such cute animals. It felt like some sort of torture. "I want you to tell the class a little about yourselves, and your power." The blonde shook her head, letting her surprise over seeing the random animals drift away. He pointed to her first, Crap . . . She had absolutely no idea what to say, sure she would give her power and name but what else was she supposed to say about herself. It wasn't like she could just say that she despised academics and would probably spend most of the class running her mouth. "Ugh, I'm Blake. Blake Starling that is. And my power is ice manipulation," she didn't feel like giving a demonstration, unless the redhead boy was going to volunteer to be frozen again, "There isn't much else to say I guess. Lived in San Diego, California and now I'm in Silas." If anyone wanted to find out what her personality was like, well than they would just have to talk to her and see. notes // None |
