She had literally just arrived and was super scared- plus, the door wouldn't open. She sighed and pushed harder- WHACK. The door flew open and Nerina tumbled to the floor. For a moment she just laid there, trying not to cry, then she pulled herself together and stood. She brought her luggage in through the door. Stopping for a moment to survey the [r o o m], she noticed that one side was taken, so (obviously) she pulled her stuff to the other. Nerina sat on the bed for a moment, then got unpacking. The chest of drawers in the middle. She took out most of her clothes- feeling slightly ashamed of her hand-me-downs as she sneaked a look at the other girls, especially as some of her's had belonged to her brothers- she easily filled her drawer/s. Now the desk on her side (look at the pic and you can see a chair peeking out on the far side). She easily lifted her new laptop, her pride and joy, out of the case and set it on the desk. Now for the finishing touch. Nerina rummaged inside the little zip-up pocket in her case and produced a . She had taken it just before Nick had died- don't think about Nick, or you'll bring on the waterworks. She blu-tacked the photo next to her bed and sat on it, nervously rubbing her thumb and finger together. |

OutfittyZilya pushed the door of her dorm with quite some force, only to have it give way easily. Suddenly finding herself off-balance, the teen stumbled forward into the room. “Woah!” she exclaimed, finally standing up straight. She adjusted the belt on her shirt before realizing that she hadn’t left the door open. She looked up towards the other side of the room and, for the first time, there was someone else there. She coughed. “Umm, hello?” she said, warily looking at the stranger who’d somehow managed to obtain the key to her dorm room. “May I… help... you in any way?” she asked. The possibility that this other girl might actually be a room mate flew right over her head. Zilya set her library book down on her bed. Having just come from said place, Zilya had been excited to read her new book. It was called ‘Flowers in the Attic’, a book that seemed interesting enough for her. The sixteen year old never took her eyes off the stranger as she sat down on her neatly made bed, waiting (rather anxiously, mind you) for an explanation as to why this girl broke into her dorm room.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] OUR FRIENDSHIP'S LIKE A SLICE OF CHOCOLATE CAKE The Words: two hundred and sixteen The Outfit: you know it! The Notes none Nerina’s head snapped up as another girl tumbled in. Either, thought Nerina, she’s a roommate, or a friend of one. She stood up and asked, “Are you alright?” She headed towards the girl then backed off, sitting on her own bed when the girl did the same.
The girl posed the odd question to her- then it struck Neri that the girl might not know that she had a roommate. She smiled guiltily and stammered, “Er, well. I’m y- *clear throat* I’m your new roommate. I mean, I was assigned to this room...” She trailed off nervously. Yes, she was as nervous as the other girl, because she hadn’t really been in this kind of awkward situation before... She started rubbing her thumb and index finger together.
Anyone who knows Nerina knows that when she gets emotional, she loses control... A puddle of water dripped from her hand onto the floor. “Oh, crud,” she moaned, “Sorry... Er, just a second.” She lay her hand palm down a foot over the water and clenched her fist. The water curled into a ball and moved (with Nerina’s fist) into a plastic bin-liner-ed bin.
She turned back to her roommate sheepishly. “So, er, sorry. I didn’t mean to, honestly. It just kind of happened- but I cleared it up, the floor’s dry, I can’t feel any water there.” |
