Well, this is how we did it on x-gen that seemed to work fairly well. We had a separate board set up for the event, with a post stickied at the top that was something like the first post of (this) thread, basically just explaining what the event is, general decorations, any planned activities, and stuff like that. Then people would start their own threads within that board and tag their dates, friends, etc. We had tried just doing one big thread, but it would take so long because of how many people were posting and such. Now you don't really need a separate board to set it up this way. Just like... the gym or something. Just maybe some general decorations and stuff like that which you can explain out of character. Or, if you're feeling frisky, you can set up the stickied post like a flyer that would be posted on the school's bulletin board or something. *shrug* There are plenty of possibilities. That's just my two cents worth. |

I was actually just wondering if we should use a board setup instead of a thread setup. xD I've seen the idea used on other sites and it always seemed to go so much more smoothly than the thread thing. Especially considering I don't do so well in threads with more than five people. @_@ There's just too much to keep track of and too much to ignore. It's one thing if it's a short term, thread only rp on some site that just happens to have an rp board, but events like this needs a wee bit more organization.
I think big parties are going to be held in the great hall (don't quote me on that), and then we could always make a special archive board for party threads? Maybe? -shrugs-
Either way, I like the idea of using a board instead of a thread.

Yeah, that will definitely be a good idea to have it as a board rather than a single thread. I will see if there are any threads in the Gym/Great Hall. To be honest, it can go into either area as they are both big enough. Maybe the student one is in the gym and then teacher one is in the great hall. XD Minor details to be sorted out later. Since I now have a wonderful new modem *glares angrily down at it* that better freaking work right, I should be able to get on and get most stuff started on tonight. ^-^ Could have stuff up by tomorrow maybe or something. |

So are we going to have any special activities for the students? Like... *thinks* Contests, raffles (could raffle off free homework tickets), or anything like that?

That's a very good idea, actually. We should do a vote for like... Masked King and Queen maybe? Can come up with cooler names. The vote can just be done ooc rather than ic but can be announced ic. A contests for best dressed maybe? Then a raffle can be for the free homework tickets. Best dress can get a ... little mask trophy. XD
I wonder if there's anything else to be done. A dance contest could be cool, too.
