Brief Summary:
Mordecai is a bit of an interesting character. He is a very large and in charge kind of guy who demands respect from others instantly. One look with his steel, cold eyes could send shivers down the spines of even the most rebellious of students. On the exterior, he’s a very dominating figure with a deep voice. However, those who actually get to know Mordecai know he’s really just a big teddy bear with a warm heart. He enjoys cracking jokes, usually bad ones, and pranking others for a little bit of fun. When it comes to women, Mordecai was a huge womanizer back in the day. He has a story for every day of the week practically, the horn dog. One fine day Mordecai met “the one” and has been faithfully in love with her ever since. The two have been dating for years but Mordecai has been too scared to the pop the question. Thankfully Melissa’s a patient person. Mordecai also have a soft spot for cats. He tolerates dogs.
Power Description »Mordecai’s earth manipulation is a little bit of everything. Practicing since the day he got his powers, the guy’s quite skilled at his ability. So far his record size for moving boulders is a 1000 pound rock which he moved for a grand total of 50 yards. Every day he works to best his best. Other than moving rocks, Mordecai can shape them into small to medium figures or shapes. His strength lies in dirt, stone, and minerals. It takes more effort for him to manipulate sand and is extremely limited when it comes to glass and metal.
History »
Mordecai was born in Great Falls, Montana 55 years ago. His parents were very Christian. Although his faith isn’t strong, he has retained their good morals. He has always been a gentleman, albeit he became a bit of a womanizer in the young adult years of his life. Still, he’d never raise a hand against a woman and treats them well. At the ripe age of six Mordecai was being bullied by the school’s local bully. Weird huh? Well at the time the youngster was an easy target and not nearly as built. When the bully went to punch the kid, Mordecai’s emotions got the better of him. A regular sized rock shot out from the ground and struck the bully right in the stomach halting any type of physical assault.
From that day Mordecai reveled in his new found powers training endlessly to hone and strengthen them. In time he grew up and filled out. His powers have always been a large part of his life and it would kill him if they were somehow lost. Other than having the power to manipulate the very ground beneath his feet, Mordecai grew up in a very normal and stable environment. When 18 years came and rolled by Mor went into the Army for several years. By that time the Vietnam War was over, but feelings toward the enemy and Communism still ran high.
Mor spent a good twenty years in the Army and retired as a First Sergeant. After that he went back to school under the GI bill to get his college degree. He advanced fairly quick in his classes, most of which were online, and went on to get his Masters in Geology. The class about rocks was a given. While in the Army, Mordecai had come across several other special people like himself. Of those few two had attended a school called Silas Academy. The idea peaked his interest and as soon as he graduated with his Masters and was certified as a teacher, Mor went to the Headmistress and asked for the job. It was an easy enough fit as no one seemed interested in Geology. Lillian was happy to give it to him.
Several years have passed and in that time Mordecai met a beautiful lady, Melissa York. He fell in love with her the moment he laid eyes upon her. Since their first date, the two have been going steady. Mordecai plans on proposing to her (he even has a ring picked out which he always carries with him), but his nerves have been holding him back. Maybe one day.
