Excuse me. Lily slowly pushed her way through a large crowd of students. Excuse me, Lily couldn't help hissing at a male student who stood his ground and showed her a toothy grin. Lily sighed and pushed him out of the way. He fell to the ground with a thud and that sent him wailing.
Lily quickened her pace. There it was. The library. Only... Lily couldn't help gaping at the double-doors. Only, she hadn't expected it to look so large. The doors were translucent. Inside it was stuffed to the brim with books. Just books. And maybe a counter, a few velvet sofas and tables.
Lily smiled. Heaven. She pushed the doors open. It was eerily quiet, which wasn't a surprise, considering the fact that there were about zero students in it. People these days. Such a waste of paper. The library was even larger from the inside. The walls were covered in white paint, perfect white paint. Not a single scratch on the wall, or even dried paint peeling off. Maybe first days of school weren't so bad, after all. Courtesy of the library.
Slowly Lily ran her fingers across a line of books. They felt leathery to touch.

Ghost was, as matters would have it, also in the library. Having relegated himself far into a comfortable nook, he was now napping as contently as a kitten, an illustrated guide on carpentry techniques slipping past his fingers. Finally, it would drop with a clatter and he would jerk into a waking state, blinking confusedly at a wall clock and yawning. The cuff of his worn out coat was brought up, brushing at his lips.
The academy was nice. He was perfectly alright with learning what there was to be had, to observe others hard at work. A slower-paced life was what he had been accustomed to, and everyone else seemed to rush about, as if they were in a constant state of agitation and needed to constantly get things done. They were a hasty bunch. Full of hormones and a need to prove themselves, too. Some complained about roommates, although he hadn't been assigned one yet. Would he even be able to have one? The question bordered on his mind for a moment, although it was soon pushed away.
Dragging himself up from the hidden little nook, he gave a stretch and left off to return his tome, nodding out through the library and he scanned the shelves for the proper return area, sliding the book into the crevice it had left when taken. Absently, he glanced off to a girl that hadn't seemed to notice him, seemingly taking it that she had the entire library to herself. Well, she seemed satisfied about something with that smile. Creeping across the library and positioning himself directly behind her, she would catch the scent of sweetly-scented herbs before he whispered.
"Hello, I am Ghost Deliverance. I am new to this academy." Standing stock-still behind her, even if she flinched or turned about quickly, he would seem as if he was lost. Continuing on in the same level tone, he would tap at her shoulder. "You were born under a lucky star. I see this."

Lily hadn't really noticed the male student, only the sweet scent of herbs. She had thought that he was referring to someone else, but when no one responded, she turned around hesitantly. She couldn't help smirking slightly at the name the boy had stated: Ghost.
The boy she stood face-to-face did have the impression of a ghost, considering his white hair. Lily, she said. Lily Alagante. Lily looked at Ghost carefully. He looked alright, she guessed. Hypnotism. And you do? Lily asked; she wasn't much good with sentences, and she thought longer sentences just wasted more air.
Ghost didn't look like a reader. Not from Lily's point of view. More like a sleeper. He did look kind of sleepy, perhaps he had woken up from a short nap? Do you even read? Lily asked before Ghost answered the last question. She was about to ramble on about the histories of books and different types of books and her favorite authors and blahblahblah but she stopped herself just in time. She guessed Ghost wouldn't be interested. Not really.

"Oh! Yes, I do read." Taking a seat once more, he would keep himself propped up with one elbow, already looking quite sleepy. The truth was, he had been as of late. Sunny spring weather had always made him drowsy, and Ghost had always kept his own hours, sleeping as he would.
Tipping the end of his straw brimmer up, he would cast his cloudy eyes upon her, blowing at the dangling ribbons in front of his face. "Detective novels, Westerns, referential material."
She had also asked him what he could do. Now, that was difficult to explain. At least, he could say what thought happened, although experience was relative. Forgive me, Ghost would plead within his mind. His breath would catch upon the air, misting up as the air around them grew dank and chill, silence encroaching even further. The books upon the shelves would begin to hit the floors, covers flying open, pages rifling upon an ill wind. The male would disappear in a swirl of errant papers, leaving nothing but en empty chair.
It was now made of perfect silence, the chill now having grown to a snapping frost. Something interrupted the eerily quiet atmosphere. A shuffling from on down the hall, something squealing against the flooring, like a pair of muddy rainboots. Shadows would slant against the walls, and beneath the doorways, brackish water would begin to trickle fourth. The windows outside of the library portrayed a scene straight out of madness; The halls had been flooded with murky water, and was now under brown-cast depths. The water was still lit with the fluorescents of the hall-lights, displaying indistinct shapes, shapes that moved and coiled. Something would show for two second, a toothy maw that snapped at nothing in particular, blind cavefish like eyes bulging out at the window and rolling in all directions, long and elongated fingers screeching against the glass pane, begging to be let in.
"I'm the boogey man." It was Ghost's voice, deep inside of her head, the library door opening and letting the water, and in fact, the creatures into the area. The room was quickly flooded, the water would have been freezing against Lily's flesh, something scaled running down the length of her leg. It was then that her nightmare would end, not even ten seconds having passed since she had entered it.
That is to say, if Ghost had been strong enough to have overpowered her into believing it was happening. If not, Lily would have just watched him staring off into space stupidly for the few seconds that had passed.
