Brief Summary: Arynn looks to be an extremely confident woman with a penchant for harmless flirting... well, mostly harmless anyway. It's not necessarily that she thinks she's so amazing, but that she came to the conclusion very early that life is too uncertain and short to not be true to yourself. As a result, she's not afraid of much, and she's certainly not afraid of interacting with others and doing and saying what's on her mind. That doesn't mean she's tactless. In fact, it's the exact opposite. She's quite the charmer. Her flirting is mostly 'harmless' because Arynn is kind of a relationship-phobe. Her heart has been broken by several people throughout her lifetime that she's viewed as extremely important and close to her. Some have died, leaving her alone and hurting, and some have hurt her intentionally. She tends to stay clear of those meaningful relationships simply because she doesn't want to have her heart broken yet again. In a way, it's ironic seeing as how she's all about life being too short to not do what you want to do and be who you are and damn the consequences. Everybody has their quirks.

Despite all that, Arynn is a great teacher. She has a fun-loving personality. She's quick-witted and can have a sharp tongue when the occasion calls for it. There's not many people who don't like her... that she knows about anyway. Don't let her hesitancy to have meaningful relationships fool you. She will often go out of her way--generally secretly--to do things for others. Because, honestly, Arynn hates sad endings... or sad anything, really.

Power Description »

Muscle Manipulation is the ability to control the output of the body's muscles. This involves short bursts of super human qualities such as strength, speed, dexterity, etc. Think about all those stories you've heard of amazing feats performed by normal people, like a mother who heaved a car off their child to save their life. A combination of high amounts of adrenaline in the system and the ability to use the full potential of her muscles allowed that mother to do just that. Arynn is able to do similar acts upon command.

However, there are negative side effects to using her ability. The longest she has ever been able to maintain her ability was 5-10 minutes depending on which particular aspect she's tapping into. Enhanced speed and flexibility are easier to maintain. Super strength is a different matter entirely. The longest burst she's ever had with her strength was a minute. The problem resides in the natural makeup of the body. Her muscles still need the necessary oxygen and energy to function. This is why Arynn can eat as much as she wants and still look as good as she does, but it's more than that. She exercises and keeps her body in tip-top shape because the more capable her muscles are in the beginning, the higher she's able to increase their output.

If she abuses her ability--her body--it's possible she can have permanent damage to her muscles. And whenever she uses her ability she becomes famished and exhausted afterward, depending on how much and how long she uses it.

Theoretically, she could also manipulate the muscles of her eyes and ears to enhance her vision and hearing. This is far beyond her abilities though. Maybe one day, but that'll be a long day coming.

History »

Arynn was born on July 4 to filthy rich parents of an aristocratic nature in London, England. Thankfully, her parents went against the grain of typical wealthy society. They loved their daughter and made it their goal every day to be good parents. Arynn grew up knowing what true familial love was like--in her opinion anyway. Her mother taught her everything a young woman should know, not to mention plenty besides. They were aristocracy after all. Her father taught her how to be a leader. He was also the advocate behind putting his daughter in self-defense classes. he felt it important that his little girl be able to protect herself if ever the need arose. Arynn's mother hadn't felt it the most appropriate thing for a girl her age and station, but there were some things that her father wouldn't budge on, not even for his beloved wife. As a result, Arynn grew up bouncing between different styles of Martial Arts.

It wasn't until her 15th birthday that tragedy struck. Both her parents were killed in a terrible car accident. Arynn's world crashed down around her and it was the first time in her life that she felt completely and utterly alone. She was sent to live with her aunt who lived on the other side of London. Despite living so close, they had never been close. Unlike her parents, Arynn's aunt was a stuck-up snob who care more about appearances than about fostering true, loving relationships. During this period, Arynn began to truly rebel against the system, so to speak. Instead of the upstanding aristocratic girl she was supposed to be, she became a rebel. She dabbled in drugs and alcohol until her aunt forced an intervention. Not necessarily for the sake of her niece, but more so for the sake of their reputation.

It was also during this time that Arynn's 'gift' manifested itself. At first, she had no idea what was happening or why. It started out as a subconscious thing. She'd have shorts bursts of super human attributes which would then leave her exhausted and starving. There was even one time that she ended up in the ER with an IV in her to get the necessary nutrients back into her body before it shut down. It happened by sheer chance--perhaps more like divine providence--that around her seventeenth birthday--after she'd been in a street fight and got shot and admitted to the hospital--that she met another like herself. The girl was younger than her. Only eleven at the time. But she was a Seeker, or, at least, that's what she called herself. She had the ability to sense other people's gifts and determine what they were. It was through this little girl that Arynn discovered what she was and received a basic understanding of what she could do. But it was the fact there were more out there with gifts like hers that woke her up from a two-year-long streak of messed up rebellion.

After that, she straightened up... mostly... and her aunt thought it had been her righteous influence that had saved the young girl from herself. Arynn didn't care if that's what her aunt thought. The truth was, she had purpose again. She had a force to drive her. She had a goal. She graduated high school and managed to get into Oxford where she got her teaching degree in English and Writing Composition, something she had always excelled in. All while learning about her gift more and learning to control it better.

Immediately after graduating from Oxford, she searched for some place that she could put her skills to use that would be able to help those like her. It was among this search that she found Silas Academy. She wasted no time in moving to America. As beautiful as England could be with its green, lush landscape, she had never particularly cared for the overall lack of sunshine.

So, now she's at Silas Academy trying to find her place, yet again.
