But that didn't really matter one tiny bit, because she wanted to go somewhere new! She had been at Silas for about a month now, or maybe just a couple o weeks...or a month....But that was besides the point! She had been there, but never here! In the forest. Which was a shame, as there were some marvelous climbing trees here! One, of which, Cassi was currently in. And dangling upside down, arms loose and and dangling to the ground much like her long, curly hair. She smiled to herself, her eyes closed, humming happily as her face slowly grew more and more red, the blood rushing to her head causing a bright flush to come over her features.
She blinked her eyes open when she began to hear "whooshing" noises and decide now was probably a good time to right herself. So she reached up, placed her hands on the rough bark of the branch she was currently dangling from and flipped her legs off the wood. She landed on her feet with a loud 'thud' and knelt down as far as her legs would allow before she straightened up with her hands in the air as though she were in some gymnastics performance. "Tuh-dah!" she stage whispered to herself. "And she lands it! What a spectacular display of skill this young girl has shown us!" And then she cupped her hands to her mouth and made little roaring noises as though there were a crowd applauding her, never mind crowds at a gymnastics competition tended to not completely freak out when their favorite athlete did well.
But even so, Cassadee began to bow exuberantly to the trees and various shrubbery around her. "Thank you! Thank you!"

Lend was all roaming around and stuff, when he came back to the woods. He kind of liked the woods, so made up his mind to come back to the clearing that he liked. He could think there, he reasoned, and practice turning into people without totally freaking them out. Because he had discovered that people get creeped when you imitate them as soon as you meet them (it really was too bad that Lend had so little self-control that he couldn’t stop his power happening).
Unfortunately, there was this situation, where he couldn’t quite remember the way to the clearing and ended up in a dense sea of trees. Cursing his lack of navigation skills, he grumbled unintelligible-y to himself as he was met with tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree after tree... Oh, no, he missed one... Well, he wasn’t going to start again, that was certain.
He came across a girl, who had just said, "... of skill this young girl has shown us!" She then started bowing to the trees, thanking them. For what, he didn’t know, but even so he ran up to her and surveyed her for a short second. Curly hair seemed to be the main feature, but her clothes were all summery and stuff too. Lend was kind of dressed for the summer... Ish. Anyways, he said, straight out, “Hi- I’m Lend. Can I ask what the ‘skill this young girl has shown us’ is?” He half-grinned, not exactly mocking her but more laughing with her. |
