❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂It was too nice a day to sit around the dorm room and stare at the wall. Even if the dorm room was safe and had a door that could lock if someone came looking for them... Walker shifted position on the hard stone bench he was occupying, and crammed his hands into his pockets so he wouldn't jump up and drag his son away from the fountain. His denial said it was just that Toby might fall into the fountain and hurt himself, but his paranoia said said it was because maybe the greasy man was right about Toby being...like Walker, and what if touching the water made it spread?
He almost laughed aloud when he realized what he'd just thought, and instead shifted position yet again and heaved a sigh of frustration. He wished Marie were still alive...for many reasons, but not the least because she would have known just what to do here - she always knew what to do no matter what the situation was...And Toby would have loved her so much. The three year old was a good boy, and he never complained about moving around all the time and never getting to know anyone, but Walker couldn't help but wonder how long that would last. "He's going to hate me when he's older, Marie." I wish you were here tell me I'm wrong. "I'm going to be one of those parents that drives his kids away because he cares too much. Like in those stupid TV shows you used to watch." He laughed half-heartedly and let his head drop back on the seat (though he angled it so he could still see Toby leaning over to splash in the fountain water). Talking to Marie wasn't ever a habit he'd gotten himself into after she'd died, part of him wondered what would have changed that today. Perhaps she was there...His smile this time was to cover up the sudden tightening in his stomach, and he resolved to distract himself.
"Toby." The little blond turned obediently at his call, and Walker nodded toward the fountain, "What's that in the water? Walker waited until Toby had turned back in confusion, and then reached out to where he could feel the water, and began trying to make something happen. It would be easier if he were touching the water, but...that teacher said he needed to push himself and he was too lazy to get up anyway.
He knew it had worked when Toby squealed in surprise, and then he saw the tendril of water dancing inches out of the rest. It was a little creepier than he'd realized...Toby didn't seem to mind, and instead seemed to be trying to decide whether he was going to touch it or not.
They were both so engrossed in the water that neither heard the footsteps as someone else entered the courtyard.

Jackie kicked open the door of the main building of Silas Academy, two hours after classes had ended for the day. One word: detention. Oddly enough, Jackie was more accustomed to her school days ending in detention than not. The medium hummed a tune, very off-pitch, as she strolled across the academy’s lawn towards the garden courtyard. She’d decided, during the two hours of leisurely time others called “detention,” that she’d spend a quiet evening, amongst the roses and lilacs, with a bottle of vodka and not a care in the world.
But as she opened the creaky old gate to the garden, she heard the carefree laugh of a child before spying a little family next to the fountain. The medium prepared to head off to a quiet area to spend a little quality time with the bottle of alcohol sloshing around in her backpack, until she realized that there was really only a boy and his father at the fountain. The third person, whom she could only assume was the boy’s mother, wasn’t alive. It wasn’t often that Jackie mistook the dead for the living, but the family looked just that, like a family.
When the man began talking to the dead woman, Jackie initially thought that he was a medium too, that he knew she was sitting right there beside him and listening to him. But it didn’t take long for her to realize that the man didn’t know his wife was with him. Jackie could almost feel the sadness she saw on the woman’s face, and before she realized what was happening she found herself slowly approaching the trio.
The woman watched Jackie, most likely just curious about the girl approaching her husband and child, unaware that the brunette could actually see her too. Jackie looked at her straight in the eye, not unkindly, but a smile didn’t touch her face either. Shock spread across the woman’s features when she realized that Jackie could see her, but her surprise suddenly melted into a smile.
“Tell him I said- Marie said, that Toby would never hate him, that no one could. And that I said that he’s been a great father.”
Jackie could hear the tears that Marie was struggling to hold back. How often had she stood by her husband, listening to him speak to her, but unable to give him a single sign that she could hear him? That she was right beside him? The man just looked at her, confused by the strange girl staring at the spot on the bench next to him as if someone were actually there. At first, Jackie wasn’t sure how to tell the man that his dead wife was right there, so she just let the words spill out.
“Um. So Marie is here. Your wife… I think.” Jackie noticed Marie nodding before she continued. “And she wanted me to tell you a few things. She said that he could never hate you- your son I mean. She said your son, Toby, could never hate you, and that nobody could.” Jackie’s eyebrows knit together as she considered how she could probably hate the guy. But she kept that to herself before delivering the rest of the message. “And she says you’re a great father.”

. so i go insane like i always do AND I CALL YOUR NAME, SHES A LOT LIKE YOU
It wasn't so much the day that had made him unusually giddy, but the person he had accidentally come into contact with. In his defense, the intent to absorb someone's power hadn't been there. In fact, he was completely innocent in the matter, or so he had convinced himself. The person had been a light manipulator and the power had such a warm energy that he had an abnormally goofy smile stretched across his lips.
He nodded and smiled at people as they walked past him and ignored the looks of utter shock he received in return. Okay, so he wasn't always the friendliest guy, but didn't they know it was rude to stare at someone when they had smiled?
Raising a hand he observed the unearthly glow of his skin. He was having a hard time containing the light and finding little reason to learn to do so. It was fun, to glow. He sent the light off his skin in a wave and watched as it spiraled out like a ripple in water.
His smile faltered as he saw the people surrounding the fountain. They looked said and in his current mood, he didn't want to be around unhappy people. Maybe they just needed a little sunshine. His eyes focused on the girl. Jackie, the name caused a wicked grin to replace his smile as he remembered their first encounter but it faltered when he saw the little boy playing in the water. Kids... he'd always loved kids, which most people found unusual, given his personality.
Wandering over he forcefully dimmed the glow of his own body so it was subdued. He nodded at the man and Jackie."Sorry to interrupt a serious moment... I think that's what was happening here..." He smiled again, a goofy grin that felt right and completely wrong all at once. Why was he acting like this? He sent a small ball of light skimming around the fountain, hovering a few feet in front of the boy. It seemed to possess its own personality, bobbing up in down and darting through the droplets of water streaming from the fountain. "I was just bored and thought he might be as well." He nodded to the kid with a friendly smile.

“You know, Old Jack, I just might have to replace Hewie with you. You’re definitely much cooler than he is. Plus you haven’t gone and ditched me, the little snot.” Serinity gave a snort placing her arms across her chest. Old Jack didn’t seem to have acknowledged Rini much. The Irish Wolfhound silently padded alongside her as if he had nothing better to do. Rini didn’t seem to notice. Still muttering to herself the girl suddenly found herself without her companion. “Wha…Old Jack?!” She cried exasperated as the dog trotted off away from her following a younger student eating a sandwich. The blonde placed her hand against her forehead with a sigh. “Fine, I didn’t want to hang out with you anyhow.”
Frowning she continued through the courtyard taking in the beautiful flowers. Autumn would soon be here, but the magic-touched flowers would remain. Bubbling waters from the fountain could be heard up ahead. Serinity loved sitting around the fountain watching it. Not only was it relaxing, but it was also entrancing. The water never seemed to fall the same way twice. “Oh…” she said to herself coming upon the scene of three students and a child. Tilting her head to the side, the girl picked a nearby bench and resigned herself to listening to their conversation while watching a butterfly float by. Her homework done and her dog disappeared, Rini was alone and this was probably the most company she’d get all day. Wait a second. Wasn’t that Seth?! Zeroing in on the boy Rini watched with distaste. Why was he acting so… cheerful? It made her angry seeing him so cheerful. He’s the type of person who should never be cheerful!

❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂He hadn't realized the girl was there until she was nearly on top of him. When he finally did, he glanced up in surprise, which turned quickly to confusion at her watching the empty bench beside him. He glanced at it, and then back at her, opening his mouth to offer her a seat - and then leaving it open in pained shock as she started speaking. It took him only a moment (just as she paused thoughtfully) to lurch to his feet, torn between the urge to run from this lunatic - says the man who can control water with his mind, - and the ridiculous hope that maybe, just maybe Marie was there. She started speaking again, and he snapped without thinking, "Stop it." He couldn't take the possibility that Marie might have been there the whole and might have seen him stumbling through all the mistakes he made with Toby...that she might be there, and he couldn't see her, while this...this girl could. "I don't know who you are, but my wife's been dead for more than three years. She can't have told you anything." He turned then to call Toby to him and saw the dark-haired boy approaching. The...glowing, dark-haired boy.
The boy's words and ridiculous grin, on top of what the girl had just said stretched him near to breaking, and he seriously considered punching the kid. Until a ball of light shot of him and darted toward the little boy still standing by the fountain, his lip stuck out now that there was no moving water to play with. Toby, who had been nervously watching what was going on between his father and the other woman, was immediately distracted. His blue eyes got huge and he scrambled after the ball, his hands stretched out in a vain attempt to catch it as a giggles bubbled out of him again. Walker didn't know what to do...he couldn't hit the guy anymore... Heaving a careful sigh, he turned to the girl. "Look, I'm...sorry. You caught me a little off guard, and...and she can't...she can't be here." ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂

Maybe there was a hint of agitation, some part of him that wavered in his happiness as the guy stared back at him, clearly not enjoying the interruption. Whatever. Seth shook off the darkness that practically surrounded the man. He directed his smile back to the boy, watching him giggle and try to grab the shining sphere. It sparkled and glittered and would disappear for a moment as if the water droplets dispersed it. Then it would reappear again, twinkling merrily and dancing just out of reach. With a gentle flick of his wrist, he guided the light towards the boy, letting it hover in place just before him, as if daring him to reach it.
The light that continued to seep from Seth dulled slightly, a flicker of annoyance curbing his good spirits. He glanced up, focusing on the blonde sitting just on the other side of the fountain. His eyes narrowed. Rini. Then the light took over again, the warm sensation of the power soothing his nerves, and he smiled at her. With his free hand, he sent a small stream of light towards her, swirling around her very briefly before disappearing. He sat down at the edge of the fountain, leaning in to whisper teasingly to the boy. "I don't think that lady is as happy as we are."

The blond casually observed the scene from across the fountain. There was no way to know what exactly was going on or what was being said. So, Rini resided on the bench sitting quietly glancing toward the group. They were an interesting bunch now that she really sat and looked at them. Honestly Rini didn’t recognize anyone except for Seth. The man with the kid Rini had heard of in passing from her grandmother. Or was the kid the girl’s? Eying Jackie, the girl slipped on her headphones and unlocked her iPhone. It was a gift from her grandmother. The thing was amazing honestly.
At that moment movement caught her eye. Looking up Rini put on an indignant look as Seth smiled at her. It was different from his previous, snarky grins. It was almost a…normal smile. Could the younger boy accomplish such a feat? Moments later a small steam of light circled around her before disappearing just as quickly as it arrived. Why was he acting this way?! Seth’s attitude and actions perplexed and irritated Rini. Really! He wasn’t supposed to be happy! Huffing, the girl looked away from the group turning on her music.
A smirk came about her when a thought struck Serinity. Innocently enough, the blonde observed the area to her left concentrating on a specific spot. Swirling cloud coverage began to appear over Seth. The cloud became darker and darker as the seconds ticked on. Before the rain laden cloud could release its water, a fly buzzed toward Serinity landing on her hand tickling the fine hairs. That slight moment of distraction caused her fully formed cloud to drift. Flicking her wrist the fly went away and Rini let the rain fall… directly onto Walker and only Walker. Blue eyes flickered over to admire her handiwork. Instead of basking in the glory of her victory, Serinity’s face went pale at the sight of her mistake. Whoops.

❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂Walker watched Toby with a pang as the little boy shriek with delight and chased the light. It didn’t help that he still sort of wanted to be mad – he wanted to have somewhere to direct the frustration that still boiled through him – and knew it would be totally unfair to attack either of the students with him. He couldn’t help smiling with the ball of light finally held still for Toby to touch, and it grew when Toby reached hesitantly toward said ball with eyes that looked too big for his face. Toby’s hands sunk through the ball and he jerked back in surprise, looking at the dark-haired, glowing student with the start of panic. “I didn’t break it!” When the boy didn’t seem bothered by what had happened, Toby relaxed and turned to peek through the water at the blonde girl. Walker followed suit, frowning slightly when he saw the grumpy look on the girl’s face. Toby had an immediate solution and he grinned at the dark-haired boy, “I’ll get her a flower!” “Toby!” Walker took a step after the boy, and then hesitated, his natural suspicion warring with the idea that it wasn’t going to hurt anything to let him pick just one flower. Toby made up his mind for him by reappearing almost immediately, a little yellow flower clutched in his chubby fist as he tottered toward the blonde. Sighing slightly, Walker turned to call to the girl – and was abruptly soaked by a downpour that only fell around him. Letting out a surprised yell, he spun to find the culprit – and immediately caught sight of the girl’s pale face and generally guilty-looking air. “What the-” He cut off with an irritated noise and stuck out a hand toward the fountain, pulling and pushing the water to force a wave toward the blonde (and Toby, but he wasn’t thinking about his son being next to the girl). Only he was still irritated and more than a little freaked out, and the water didn’t quite behave how it was supposed to: instead of blasting water toward the girl, he blasted water straight up. It sparkled way into the air, and then fell back into the basin…and onto the rim and the dark-haired boy sitting there. Flushing scarlet, he took a half step toward the boy, “I’m sorry! I didn’t – I was trying to get…sorry.”[/div] ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ and one man in his time plays many parts note:I feel like I managed a reasonably short post here! Patience was one of the very many virtues Jackie did not possess. She had to fight the urge to leave the man when he looked at her like she was a kook and refused to believe that his wife was sitting beside him. When he insisted that it was impossible that his wife could be there, Jackie simply rolled her eyes and began to turn away. The one and only time that Jackie bothered herself to help another just further proved what a waste of time it was. “Wait, please don’t go yet,” the ghost pleaded from where she sat next to the man. It frustrated Jackie that she actually paused to listen to the dead woman. What was going on with her? The Jackie she knew and loved would never have involved herself with this situation. The woman quickly made use of Jackie’s hesitation and told the medium about one of Walker’s habits that only she knew about. Great. And when this backfires, not only is he going to think she had a few loose screws in her head, he’s also going to think that she’s some creepy stalker. Jackie shrugged, there were worse things people thought of her.
A peculiarly cheery Seth joined the group just as Jackie turned her attention to Walker once more. Whats going on with him? To be honest, Jackie was quite disturbed at the sight and began to wonder if the Headmistress was slipping something into the water at Silas. She watched with a raised brow as the power absorber entertained the little boy with a ball of light. The kid was so full of energy that it was starting to make Jackie tired to watch him run around and concern himself with everything under the sun.
When the little boy ran off to pick flowers, Jackie finally saw her chance to try convincing Walker again. But when she turned back to face him, he was completely drenched with water. Had he fallen in? A few seconds later, the fountain erupted like a volcano and the water rained back down and onto the giddy power absorber. Jackie couldn’t help but burst into a fit of laughter. It wasn’t just Seth getting soaked that made her laugh so hard, but the entire situation was just so ridiculous.

. so i go insane like i always do AND I CALL YOUR NAME, SHES A LOT LIKE YOU
The boy innocently leapt up from where he was and ran to get Rini a flower. That was why he actually liked kids. Where everyone else had a motive, some selfishness where any kind of kindness came from, kids just wanted to make someone smile. He wished he was that way again, but that was probably just the power high talking. The light manipulator's powers gave him an adverse reaction to darkness. So when the dark cloud began to form above him he glanced up with a hesitant frown. Seth shifted uncomfortably for a moment but then the cloud began to drift away and then hovered for a moment over the other student. The rain fell for a moment, but it was long enough to soak the guy through and through.
There wasn't even a second for him to register what had happened before the student retaliated, only, he seemed to be bad at aiming. The water poured over him, shocking him. He leapt to his feet with a yell, the surprise sending a wave through him, letting loose the steady control he had over the borrowed powers. Surrounding light shifted toward his body, darkening a ten-foot radius surrounding him, enough to encompass the other people. The light hazy glow that had emanated from his skin now burned in a hot light. There wasn't any heat, only light that even he had to force his eyes shut to block out.
Then the light flickered, like a bulb going out, and it was gone. Any remnant of warmth leaked from his body, leaving him as cold as he always was without power. Such a concentrated burst of light had sucked dry the power he'd been trying to hold onto. And it was his fault. His eyes locked onto Walker with a glare. "Well, that wasn't smart."

Already to her feet the blonde shuffled a few steps forward to apologize profusely for her grave mistake. At the sight of Walker pushing and pulling the water in the fountain, however, Serinity stopped short hesitant and wary of what he was doing. The cold water in the fountain suddenly shot straight up in the air casting a small rainbow where the sun’s rays reached. Most of the water fell back gracefully into the fountain, yet a small portion soaked Seth down to his undershirt. Serinity couldn’t help it. She tried so hard to contain herself, but she just couldn’t. Letting out a loud laugh, the blonde doubled over tears gathering in the corners of her eyes. “Oh god… oh geez! Hahahahahaha!” The time trickled by while Rini tried to surpress her laughter. Finally, she wiped away at her eyes with a last, lingering chuckle. “Oh boy that was good.”
That was when Rini noticed the darkness. Frowning, the blonde glanced around creeped out by the lack of bright, sunny light. It was almost… unnatural. Seth seemed to be absorbing it straight out of the air. Casting the dark haired kid a glance, Rini blinked and covered her eyes. His body was shining brightly. So, that was why he had been so cheery. Seth had stolen some Light wielder’s power. Just as sudden as it had begun, the Seth-light flickered once and went out. The air, chilled by the oncoming autumn season, grew colder as if the warmth had been sucked away with the light. Serinity shivered and rubbed her bare arms. It didn’t take Seth long to focus in on Walker.
Growling, the blonde stepped closer to her enemy, “Lay off it, Seth. It was an accident.” Sneering, the girl narrowed her eyes at the power absorber. She still couldn’t pinpoint why she hated him so much. His snarky attitude sure didn’t help, that was for sure. Rini glanced over at the girl standing by the small group wondering where her loyalties lay. What was her name? Jackie or something of the sort? Not one for kids, Rini had not realized that Toby was still running around. What a strange group they were.

❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂Toby had taken the flower and deposited it beside the blonde girl. Walker had paid enough attention to him to know that, and to be sure his son was nowhere near the dark-haired boy when he accidentally soaked him. He didn't see the way Toby jumped when the girl started laughing, or the way he began giggling as well. Walker was too busy watching the dark-haired boy jump up and begin to glow more brightly - at the expense of the light around them. His first thought was that Toby was afraid of the dark, and he had to get to him, and then the light was so bright it was actually painful and he threw and arm across his face and froze in place.
Toby, meanwhile, had started for Walker as soon as the darkness had started growing, but got confused when the light got too strong. So instead of reaching Walker, he stumbled around with one hand pressed to his tightly-closed eyes and the other groping blindly until it came in contact with a pant leg. Just as he had done that, the light went out and a voice (one distinctly not Walker's) came from somewhere overhead. He craned to look up at the light-boy, the meaning in the older boy's words going over his head as he broke into a smile when he realized who it was.
"Toby . . ." Walker took a nervous step forward, his eyes darting between the obviously-angry boy and his own son. He thought he could take care of the light-manipulator, as long as Toby got out of the way . . . but judging by the three year old’s smile, he’d taken a liking to the dark-haired guy, so Walker would have to calm him down instead. “Maybe it wasn’t smart, but it was an accident and I apologized. Besides, it was kind of funny. And I got wet too, so . . . just relax, okay?” He was backed up the blonde girl who suddenly stepped forward and joined their little powwow. While she sneered at Seth, Walker glanced at the Sixth Sense girl with a forced smile, “See? You were wrong; it looks I made someone hate me.” If he could just keep calm and stave off the fight that his accident was trying so hard to fight. ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂

It didn’t take long for Jackie to regain her composure, though she was still rather amused with the complete turnaround of Seth’s mood. “No need to be such a sour old lady, Seth. It’s just a little water,” she said in a mocking tone, it was always fun to poke fun at Seth. But when the Headmistress’s granddaughter said much the same thing to the power absorber, Jackie couldn’t help but narrow her eyes. Something about her attitude rubbed Jackie the wrong way. Or maybe it was just because the Headmistress was her grandmother.
Seeing an opportunity to potentially inflame the situation further, Jackie piped in with an annoyingly sarcastic tone. “You should listen to her Seth, the Headmistress is her grandma after all.” As she said this, Jackie pulled a half empty glass bottle out of her backpack, her eyes glittering at the sight of the alcohol. This had been her original plan for the day anyways. “You won’t tell on me to Grams, right?” Jackie smirked at the blonde as she twisted the cap off, not waiting for a response before taking a swig. The burn of the hard alcohol made her wrinkle her nose for a bit, but a few moments later she could feel the warmth in stomach.
When Walker spoke to her again, Jackie couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “I’m not wrong, it was your wife who said no one can hate you.” The brunette shook her head before helping herself to another swig. She’d practically forgotten all about Marie. Why did she even agree to help? What good would it do her? “In fact I think I might be starting to hate you too. How truly dense could you be? How could you not believe it when a medium tells you that your dead wife is trying to talk to you? You might be new here and all, but you should realize by now that this is a school for the gifted. I’m not some psycho trying to weird you out.” Glaring at the man, Jackie took another shot of her drink. Some people just piss me off so much. Maybe that’s his power, the ability to make people hate him. Sounds legit.

. so i go insane like i always do AND I CALL YOUR NAME, SHES A LOT LIKE YOU
'It was just an accident Seth, don't get mad. I'm fine, see?' 'Right as rain, huh Callie?' 'Right as rain.' Seth shivered at the memory, struggling with his anger. He didn't want it to be fine. He wanted a fight, not an excuse. "You think it was funny?" His hands closed into fists as he glared at the man opposite of him. Rini babbled at the corner of his vision, but he ignored her. Seeing her was enough to make him angrier.
Jackie was talking too. Jackie, who he could still remember kissing the day he had met her in the gym. Looking at her now he felt nothing, only the slight irritation that crept along his skin as she tried to tease him. This was amusing to them all. He was not going to be laughed at, not again! He stepped forward, murder flashing in his eyes.
He'd no sooner moved than felt the slight resistance of a hand on his leg. Two bright eyes stared back at him with a giddy smile. The kid. So innocent as he stood so close. He knelt down, shooting the kid's father a warning glance. "Go over to your dad now, okay?" They could think he was a monster, a psychopath, or whatever it was they thought of him, but he would never hurt a kid.
'Right as rain, Seth?' …At least not intentionally. "Right as rain." He muttered. Straightening until he was standing, facing off against the three students, he sneered at them. "Go ahead, laugh. I know how funny it must be." He stepped towards them, eyes flickering towards the alcohol in Jackie's hands. His hands shook with need, but he steeled himself with a shallow breath. "And I'd love to have an excuse to borrow any one of your powers."

What should have been a good day for everyone was quickly becoming sour. Even Seth, ever sarcastic and moody, had been in a good mood. Come to think of it, Rini had never seen him in such a good mood before. That had been the first time seeing such an event! Her blue eyes watched Seth searching his expression for any external bouts of anger. He was truly unpredictable whether he was angry or not. It was kind of sad really. Now that Serinity had thought about it, she might have accidently ruined the one chance Seth ever had at being happy; although, if that was the only chance in life of him being happy, then he was a sad, miserable person. Then again, Rini had never thought about Seth’s past…
Movement close to her caught Serinity’s attention causing her to turn and look at what Jackie was doing. At the other girl’s words, however, Serinity’s own temper flared. Her jaw set and her eyes flashed. Mimicing Seth’s actions, the two balled their fists. She was so sick of it. So sick of it all! To top it off, Jackie pulled a bottle of alcohol out of her backpack tossing the blonde a mocking question. It wasn’t the bottle that pissed her off the most. Rini was speechless. She had never met this other chick and here she was making fun of the fact she was the Headmistress’ granddaughter at Rini’s expense. What a cheap shot. The blonde took several deep breaths. Two fights might break out here.
The words Jackie then spat toward Walker had fallen on deaf ears for Serinity. She was so consumed with what the girl had said to her. Boiling over, the anger finally broke lose. “You have no right to say anything about me or my grandmother!” Serinity snarled giving Jackie a rough shove on the shoulders. It wasn’t hard enough to knock her down, but coarse enough to get her attention. “I’m so sick of you assholes thinking that I get away with shit just because I’m the Headmistress’ granddaughter! You know what, screw you! You have NO idea what I’ve been through! Bitch!” The blonde stepped back a couple of steps chest heaving, fists shaking with uncontrollable anger. Holy shit where did that come from?!
Frowning, the blonde’s cheeks reddened at her inappropriate outburst. She’d probably be paying for it later. Giving one last look around, Rini fixed Walker with an apologetic glance. The things she had said should never be said around a child. Unable to bear the situation anymore Rini figured it was just best to go before things got worse. Or was this as bad as it could get? As she turned to leave, a force pushed against her back sending the weather manipulator careening forward… Straight into Seth. Giving a yelp, Serinity removed her hands from his chest as if he were burning hot. The action caused her to fall back landing roughly on the ground with a groan.
Realizing Jackie might be ready to attack again, this time with a more physical move than a shove, Serinity got to her feet rubbing her wrist against her mouth. Her eyes focused in on the dark haired girl first. A thought occurred to Rini… Seth was a power absorber… Most people with that power needed only a touch to “steal” a power… “Shit,” she whispered her eyes turning to Seth. Her face paled. Of all the powers to steal, weather manipulation was not one of them. It was highly uncontrollable, even for someone as experienced with it as Rini.
